C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Make sure that you removed the drain mast (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-01-000-802).
4. Procedure
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-71-49-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Oil Tank Drain Tube (1) and Lower Scupper Drain Tube (2)
F Engine Drain Tubes ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Apply a thin layer of lubrication oil (Material No.PU6-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of the fitting (6).
   (3) Attach the fitting (6) to the oil tank drain tube (1).
   (4) Hold the fitting (6) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
   (5) TORQUE oil tank drain tube (1) nut to between 315 and 300 lbf.in (3.56 and 3.39 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Apply a thin layer of lubrication oil (Material No.
PU6-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of the oil tank drain tube (1) nut.
   (7) Connect the oil tank drain tube (1) to the fitting on the oil tank.
NOTE: Do not torque the oil tank drain tube (1) nut at this time.
   (8) Put the two clamps (5) on the oil tank drain tube (1).
   (9) Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of the two bolts (3).
   (10) Attach the two clamps (5) and oil tank drain tube (1) to the oil tank with the two bolts (3) and two washers (4).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolts (3) at this time.
   (11) Connect the lower scupper drain tube (2) to the fitting (6) on the oil tank drain tube (1).
NOTE: Do not torque the lower scupper drain tube (2) nut at this time.
   (12) Put the six clamps (9) and (13) on the lower scupper drain tube (2).
   (13) Attach the five clamps (9) and the lower scupper drain tube (2) to the brackets on the fan case. Use the five bolts (7) and five washers (8).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolts (7) at this time.
   (14) If necessary, put the clamp (14) on the oil tube.
   (15) Attach the clamp (13) and the lower scupper drain tube (2) to the clamp (14) with the bolt (10), two washers (11) and nut (12).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (12) at this time.
   (16) Adjust the oil tank drain tube (1) and lower scupper drain tube (2) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure there are no kinks in the oil tank drain tube (1) and lower scupper drain tube (2).
   (17) TORQUE the oil tank drain tube (1) nut at the oil tank to between 315 and 300 lbf.in (3.56 and 3.39 m.daN ) T.
   (18) TORQUE the lower scupper drain tube (2) nut to between 315 and 300 lbf.in (3.56 and 3.39 m.daN )
T.
   (19) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 27 and 23 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.26 m.daN )
T.
   (20) TORQUE the bolts (7) to between 35.0 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
T.
   (21) TORQUE the nut (12) to between 35 and 30 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.34 m.daN )
T.
   (22) Clean the two bolts (3) and adjacent surfaces with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.
PU1-0001) made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Remove the solvent with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the solvent dries.
   (23) Apply the torque stripe on the two bolts (3) and adjacent surface with the PU3-0025sealant, tamper proof.
   (24) Clean the surfaces of the fitting (6) and the adjacent nuts with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Remove the solvent with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the solvent dries.
   (25) Apply the torque stripe on the fitting (6) and the adjacent surface with the PU3-0025sealant, tamper proof.

B. Installation of the Lower Bifurcation Drain Tubes
F Engine Drain Tubes ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make sure that you removed the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803).
   (2) Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of the drain tube nuts.
   (3) Put the drain tubes in the upper line block (44) and middle line block (20).
   (4) Connect the DR131 pylon Right Hand (RH) drain tube (27) to the DR131 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27) nut at this time.
   (5) Connect the DR121 pylon Left Hand (LH) drain tube (22) to the DR121 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR121 LH drain tube (22) nut at this time.
   (6) Put the clamp (26) on the DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27).
   (7) Put the clamp (25) on the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22).
   (8) Attach the two clamps (26) and (25), DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27), and DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) together. Use the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (15) at this time.
   (9) Attach the clamp on the forward fireloop rail to the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22). Use the bolt (23) and washer (24).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (23) at this time.
   (10) Adjust the DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27) and DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) to keep the preload to a minimum.
   (11) TORQUE the DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27) nut to between 375 and 340 lbf.in (4.24 and 3.84 m.daN ) T.
   (12) TORQUE the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
T.
   (13) TORQUE the nut (15) that attach the two clamps (26) and (25), DR131 pylon RH drain tube (27), and DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22) together to between 35 and 30 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.34 m.daN )
T.
   (14) Install the IDG (
Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-803)
   (15) Connect IDG drain tube (31) to the Main Gearbox (MGB) adapter.
NOTE: Do not torque the IDG drain tube (31) nut at this time.
   (16) Connect the DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) to the DR41 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) nut at this time.
   (17) Connect the DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) to the DR21 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) nut at this time.
   (18) Connect the DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) to the DR22 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) nut at this time.
   (19) Connect the DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) to the DR65 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) nut at this time.
   (20) Connect the DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) to the DR01 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) nut at this time.
   (21) Connect the FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) to the FB02 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) nut at this time.
   (22) Connect the DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) to the DR51 drain tube.
NOTE: Do not torque the DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) nut at this time.
   (23) Apply a thin layer of lubrication oil (Material No.PU6-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of three bolts (42).
   (24) Attach the gearbox drains support bracket (33), upper line block (44) and gearbox drains support plate (41) to the gearbox. Use the three bolts (42) and three washers (43).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolts (42) at this time.
   (25) Put the two clamps (30) on the DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) and DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35).
   (26) Attach the two clamps (30), DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) and DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) to the gearbox drains support bracket (33). Use the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (15) at this time.
   (27) Put the clamp (32) on the DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37).
   (28) Put the clamp (30) on the DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38).
   (29) Attach the two clamps (32) and (30), DR 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) and DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) to the gearbox drains support bracket (33). Use the bolt (36) and washer (16).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (36) at this time.
   (30) Put the clamp (32) on the DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40).
   (31) Put the clamp (30) on the FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39).
   (32) Attach the two clamps (32) and (30), DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) and FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) to the gearbox drains support plate (41). Use the bolt (36) and washer (16).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (36) at this time.
   (33) Put the clamp (32) on the IDG drain tube (31).
   (34) Put the clamp (30) on the DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28).
   (35) Attach the two clamps (32) and (30), IDG drain tube (31) and DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) together. Use the bolt (29), two washers (16) and nut (15).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (15) at this time.
   (36) Attach the middle line block (20) and the two middle clamp-block brackets (18) and (21) to the Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI) bumper plate. Use the four bolts (17), eight washers (16) and four nuts (15).
NOTE: Do not torque the nuts (15) at this time.
   (37) Attach the two middle clamp-block brackets (18) and (21) together. Use the bolt (19), two washers (16) and nut (15).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (15) at this time.
   (38) Adjust the drain tubes (28), (31), (34), (35), (37), (38), (39) and (40) to keep the preload to a minimum. Make sure there are no kinks in the drain tubes.
   (39) TORQUE the IDG drain tube (31) to between 255 and 225 lbf.in (2.88 and 2.54 m.daN ) T.
   (40) TORQUE the DR41 fuel manifold drain tube (28) to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
T.
   (41) TORQUE the DR21 HPC-SVA1 drain tube (38) to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
T.
   (42) TORQUE the DR22 HPC-SVA2 drain tube (34) to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
T.
   (43) TORQUE the DR11 2.5 bleed drain tube (37) to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
T.
   (44) TORQUE the DR01 LPC-SVA drain tube (35) to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
T.
   (45) TORQUE the FB02 fuel vent drain tube (39) to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
T.
   (46) TORQUE the DR51 hydraulic lube drain tube (40) to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
T.
   (47) TORQUE the bolts (42) to between 70 and 63 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.71 m.daN )
T.
   (48) TORQUE the seven nuts (15) to between 35 and 30 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.34 m.daN )
T.
   (49) TORQUE the two bolts (36) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
T.
   (50) TORQUE the bolt (23) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )
T.
   (50) Put the ignition cables in the spring clips on the DR121 pylon LH drain tube (22).

D. Install the Pylon Drain Hoses
F Pylon Drain Hoses ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
   (2) Apply a layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of Left Hand (LH) forward pylon drain hose (50) fittings.
   (3) Connect the LH forward pylon drain hose (50) to the pylon interface and engine drain tube. Do not torque the LH forward pylon drain hose (50) fittings at this time.
   (4) Adjust the LH forward pylon drain hose (50). Make sure that there are no kinks or twists.
   (5) Torque the LH forward pylon drain hose (50) fittings to between 250 and 210 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.37 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Apply a layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.
PU5-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of LH aft pylon drain hose (52) and elbow (51) fittings.
   (7) Attach the elbow (51) to the LH aft pylon drain hose (52). Do not torque the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) fitting at this time.
   (8) Connect the elbow (51) on the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) to the pylon interface. Do not torque the elbow (51) fitting at this time.
   (9) Connect the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) to the engine drain tube. Do not torque the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) fitting at this time.
   (10) Adjust the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) and elbow (51). Make sure that there are no kinks or twists.
   (11) Torque the elbow (51) fitting to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN ) T.
   (12) Torque the LH aft pylon drain hose (52) fittings to between 480 and 440 lbf.in (5.42 and 4.97 m.daN )
T.
   (13) Apply a layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.
PU5-0005) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) to the threads of RH pylon drain hose (53) fittings.
   (14) Connect the RH pylon drain hose (53) to the pylon interface and engine drain tube. Do not torque the RH pylon drain hose (53) fittings at this time.
   (15) Adjust the RH pylon drain hose (53). Make sure that there are no kinks or twists.
   (16) Torque the RH pylon drain hose (53) fittings to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN ) T.
   (17) Remove the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE.

B. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).

   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
