A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Nacelle Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-52-43-420-064-A
A. Installation of the Left (Channel A) Electrical Harness (4204KS) and the Right (Channel B) Electrical Harness (4205KS) from the Pylon to the Core Fire Detector Elements
   (1) Remove all the protective covers and caps from the connectors.
   (2) Apply LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) on the threads of:
  • The screws (10) and (22)
  • The bolts (4), (5), (11), (14), (28) and (32).
   (3) Put the P-clamp (29) in position on the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15). Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
   (4) Put the P-clamp (31) in position on the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6). Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
   (5) Put the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) and the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) in position on the right side of the engine.
   (6) Connect the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) and the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) to the pylon interface (25) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804) as follows:
     (a) Connect the electrical connector (24) of the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) to the pylon interface (25).
     (b) Connect the electrical connector (23) of the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) to the pylon interface (25).
   (7) Install the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) and the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) at the fire seal (19) as follows:
     (a) Put the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) in position in the middle groove in the fire seal (19).
     (b) Put the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) in the aft groove in the fire seal (19).
     (c) Install the outer half of the fire seal (19) on the pylon frame (20).
     (d) Install the four screws (22) to attach the pylon cover (21).
     (e) TORQUE the four screws (22) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
   (8) Connect the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) and the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) to the support bracket (30) as follows:
     (a) Install the bolt (32) that attaches the P-clamp (31) and the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) to the support bracket (30).
     (b) Install the bolt (28) that attaches the P-clamp (29) and the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) to the support bracket (30).
     (c) TORQUE the bolts (28) and (32) to between 0.67 and 0.58 m.daN (59.29 and 51.33 lbf.in )
T.
   (9) Connect the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) to the right responder (8) as follows:
     (a) Attach the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) harness clamp to the support bracket (7) with the bolt (4).
     (b) TORQUE the bolt (4) to between 0.67 and 0.58 m.daN (59.29 and 51.33 lbf.in )
T.
     (c) Attach the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) to the support bracket (7) with the bolt (5).
     (d) TORQUE the bolt (5) to between 1.40 and 1.20 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in )
T.
     (e) Install the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) on the responder (8) with the nut (3).
NOTE: The larger ring goes on the larger stud and the smaller ring goes on the smaller stud. The different sizes are necessary to be sure that the electrical polarity is correct.
     (f) TORQUE the larger nuts (3) on the responder stud to between 0.62 and 0.56 m.daN (54.87 and 49.56 lbf.in )
T.
     (g) Install the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) on the responder (8) with the nut (9).
NOTE: The larger ring goes on the larger stud and the smaller ring goes on the smaller stud. The different sizes are necessary to be sure that the electrical polarity is correct.
     (h) TORQUE the smaller nuts (9) on the responder stud to between 0.51 and 0.45 m.daN (45.13 and 39.82 lbf.in )
T.
     (i) Install the harness clamp (2) and the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) on the responder (8) with the screw (10).
     (j) TORQUE the screw (10) to between 0.34 and 0.28 m.daN (30.09 and 24.78 lbf.in )
T.
   (10) Adjust the tension in the right channel B harness (4205KS) (6) and the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) along the routing. Make sure that the harness does not touch the adjacent parts.
   (11) Push the free end of the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) over the engine to the left side.
   (12) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position under the left thrust reverser cowl door.
   (13) Connect the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) to the left responder (8) as follows:
     (a) Attach the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) harness clamp to the support bracket (16) with the bolt (14).
     (b) TORQUE bolt (14) to between 0.67 and 0.58 m.daN (59.29 and 51.33 lbf.in )
T.
     (c) Attach the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) to the support bracket (13) with the bolt (11).
     (d) TORQUE the bolt (11) to between 1.40 and 1.20 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in )
T.
     (e) Install the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) on the responder (8) with the nut (3).
NOTE: The larger ring goes on the larger stud and the smaller ring goes on the smaller stud. The different sizes are necessary to be sure that the electrical polarity is correct.
     (f) TORQUE the larger nuts (3) on the responder stud to between 0.62 and 0.56 m.daN (54.87 and 49.56 lbf.in )

     (g) Install the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) on the responder (8) with the nut (9).

     (h) TORQUE the smaller nuts (9) on the responder stud to between 0.51 and 0.45 m.daN (45.13 and 39.82 lbf.in )

     (i) Install the harness clamp (2) and the left channel A harness (4204KS) (15) on the responder (8) with the screw (10).
     (j) TORQUE the screw (10) to between 0.34 and 0.28 m.daN (30.09 and 24.78 lbf.in )
