1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives information about the inspection of the nacelle:
  • After a flight in volcanic ash conditions, or,
  • After volcanic ash contamination when the aircraft was on the ground.
Inspections after a flight through volcanic ash, after volcanic sulfur odor or after volcanic ash contamination on the ground, refer to AMM task 05-51-25-200-003.

   (7) Remove the volcanic ash contamination from the components as follows:
     (a) Remove the ash contamination from the applicable components and surrounding areas with the VACUUM CLEANER.
     (b) Clean the components with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Remove the solvent with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before it dries.
     (c) Flush the components with water (Material No.PU1-0051) .
     (d) Dry the components with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) .
   (8) Examine the components again:
     (a) Refer to Step 4.A.(2) thru Step 4.A.(6)(a).
   (9) If necessary, do a functional check for the applicable components and systems:
     (a) Refer to Step 4.A.(2) thru Step 4.A.(6)(a).
