C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) For the flap track beam 2:
     (a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable inboard flap at zone 531(631).
     (b) Make sure that the applicable inboard flap is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-001).
   (2) For the flap track beams 3 and 4:
     (a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable outboard flap at zone 533(633).
     (b) Make sure that the applicable outboard flap is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-000-001).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable wing trailing edge at flap tracks 2, 3 and 4, zones 531(631), 532(632) and 533(633).
   (4) Make sure that the applicable fixed fairing access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-001):
   (5) Make sure that the applicable flap track beams are removed:

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) For the flap track beam 2:
     (a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable inboard flap at zone 531(631).
     (b) Make sure that the applicable inboard flap is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-003).
   (2) For the flap track beams 3 and 4:
     (a) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable outboard flap at zone 533(633).
     (b) Make sure that the applicable outboard flap is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-000-002).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable wing trailing edge at flap tracks 2, 3 and 4, zones 531(631), 532(632) and 533(633).
   (4) Make sure that the applicable fixed fairing access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004):
   (5) Make sure that the applicable flap track beams are removed:
4. Procedure

  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Flap Attachment-Bracket Bearing
   (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the mating surfaces of the sleeve bearing (3), the spherical bearing (4) and the flap structure (2).
   (2) Make sure that the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (4).
   (3) Carefully install the sleeve bearing (3) in the flap stucture (2).
   (4) Make sure that the sleeve bearing (3) is fully engaged in the flap structure (2).
   (5) Make sure that the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) does not touch the threads of the outer ring (1) and the sleeve bearing (3).
   (6) Install the outer ring (1) on the sleeve bearing (3), using the applicable tool as follows:
  • for the flap track beams 2 and 3, use the 98D57004033000 REM.-INST. TOOL - FLAP BEARING.
  • for the flap track 4, use the 98D57004034000 REM-INST. TOOL - FLAP BEARING.
   (7) TORQUE the outer ring (1) to between 5.0 and 4.5 m.daN (36.87 and 33.19 lbf.ft ) T.
   (8) Install the spherical bearing (4) in the sleeve bearing (3).
   (9) Make sure that the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.
06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (4).
   (10) Make sure that the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) does not touch the threads of the inner ring (5) or the sleeve bearing (3).
   (11) Install the inner ring (5) in the sleeve bearing (3), using the applicable tool as follows:
  • for the flap track beams 2 and 3, use the 98D57004033000 REM.-INST. TOOL - FLAP BEARING.
  • for the flap track 4, use the 98D57004034000 REM-INST. TOOL - FLAP BEARING.
   (12) TORQUE the inner ring (5) to between 5.0 and 4.5 m.daN (36.87 and 33.19 lbf.ft ) T.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (13) Safety the outer ring (1) and the inner ring (5) together with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - around the outboard face of the flap structure (2).
   (14) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.
06ABB1) to the parts that follow:
  • the interface of the outer ring (1) and the flap structure (2)
  • the interface of the sleeve bearing (3) and the flap structure (2).

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable flap track beam:
   (3) Install the applicable fixed fairing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001):
   (4) For the flap track beam 2:
     (a) Install the applicable inboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-400-001).
   (5) For the flap track beams 3 and 4:
     (a) Install the applicable outboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-400-001).

D. Installation of the Flap Attachment-Bracket Bearing
   (1) For the flap track 2:
     (a) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the mating surfaces of the bearing assembly (1), the nut (4) and the flap structure (2).
   (2) For the flap track 3:
     (a) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the mating surfaces of the bearing assembly (1), the nut (4) and the flap structure (2).
   (3) For the flap track 4:
     (a) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the mating surfaces of the bearing assembly (1), the nut (4) and the flap structure (2).
   (4) Make sure that the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) does not touch the internal surfaces of the bearing assembly (1).
   (5) Carefully install the bearing assembly (1) in the flap structure (2).
   (6) Make sure that the bearing assembly (1) is fully engaged in the flap structure (2).
   (7) Make sure that the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) does not touch the internal surfaces of the bearing assembly (1).
   (8) Make sure that the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) does not touch the threads of the nut (4) or the bearing assembly (1).
   (9) For the flap track 2:
     (a) Install the new AIPC 57-26-15-01-030 WASHER (3).
   (10) For the flap track 3:
     (a) Install the new
AIPC 57-26-15-05-030 WASHER (3).
   (11) For the flap track 4:
     (a) Install the new
AIPC 57-26-15-10-030 WASHER (3).
   (12) Install the nut (4), using the applicable tool as follows:
   (13) TORQUE the nut (4) as follows:
   (14) Release the applicable nut (4) after thirty minutes.
   (15) TORQUE the applicable nut (4) again, as specified in workstep (12).
   (16) Safety the nut (4) with the washer (3).
   (17) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.
06ABB1) to the parts that follow:
  • the interface of the nut (4) and the flap structure (2)
  • the interface of the bearing assembly (1) and the flap structure (2).

E. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable flap track beam:
   (3) Install the applicable fixed fairing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-004):
   (4) For the flap track beam 2:
     (a) Install the applicable inboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-400-003).
   (5) For the flap track beams 3 and 4:
     (a) Install the applicable outboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-400-002).

   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
