A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable wing fuel tank, zone 540 (640).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-46-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable wing fuel tank, zone 540 (640).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-46-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean the upper-surface of the bottom-skin butt strap at the stringers 8 thru 11 (RIB8 thru RIB21).

B. Inspection
   (1) Examine the upper surface of the bottom butt straps at stringers 8 and 11 (RIB8 thru RIB21). Make sure that:
  • there is no corrosion or damage
  • there are no scratches or scores
  • there are no loose or damaged fasteners
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-12-46-400-001):

   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
