A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540(640).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
CAUTION: WHEN YOU PUT THE ACCESS PLATFORM IN POSITION, BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VORTEX GENERATOR.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable zone 540(640).
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-12-46-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Overpressure-Protector Outlet
CAUTION: YOU MUST REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BOLTS IN THE SPECIFIED SEQUENCE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ACCESS PANEL.
   (1) Remove the bolts (4) in the sequence AB thru A.
   (2) Remove the access panel 540HB (640HB).
   (3) Put a protective cover around the pressure relief outlet (1).
Subtask 28-12-46-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Overpressure Protector Outlet
   (1) Remove the forward and the aft fixed fairings from flap track No. 4 (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004).
CAUTION: YOU MUST REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BOLTS IN THE SPECIFIED SEQUENCE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ACCESS PANEL.
   (2) Remove the bolts (4) in the sequence AF thru A.
   (3) Remove access panel 540PB ( 640PB).
   (4) Put a protective cover around the pressure relief outlet (1).
