A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 54-51-00-040-117-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-51-00-010-127-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(4) Remove the power plant (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-000-803).
(5) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 415BL 415BR 415CR
(b) For the right pylon: 425BL 425BR 425CR.
(6) Remove the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) door (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-000-815):
(a) For the left pylon: 473AL 473AR
(b) For the right pylon: 483AL 483AR.

(4) Remove the power plant (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-000-803).
(5) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-804):
(a) For the left pylon: 415BL 415BR 415CR
(b) For the right pylon: 425BL 425BR 425CR.
(6) Remove the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) door (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-000-815):
(a) For the left pylon: 473AL 473AR
(b) For the right pylon: 483AL 483AR.
D. Removal of the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) Angle Assembly
(1) Remove the RMF angle assembly (2) that is installed on the left side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
(b) Remove the nuts (1) and the screws (4), (5), (6) and (7).
(c) Remove the screw (3).
(d) Remove the RMF angle assembly (2) from the pylon box.
(2) Remove the RMF angle assembly (8) that is installed on the right side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
(b) Remove the nuts (9) and the screws (10), (11) and (12).
(c) Remove the screw (13).
(d) Remove the RMF angle assembly (8) from the pylon box.
Subtask 54-51-00-110-118-A (1) Remove the RMF angle assembly (2) that is installed on the left side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(a) Hold the RMF angle assembly (2) that is installed on the pylon box. (b) Remove the nuts (1) and the screws (4), (5), (6) and (7).
(c) Remove the screw (3).
(d) Remove the RMF angle assembly (2) from the pylon box.
(2) Remove the RMF angle assembly (8) that is installed on the right side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(a) Hold the RMF angle assembly (8) that is installed on the pylon box. (b) Remove the nuts (9) and the screws (10), (11) and (12).
(c) Remove the screw (13).
(d) Remove the RMF angle assembly (8) from the pylon box.
E. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Remove the fasteners to inspect the holes. Refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 514200).
(2) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Non-destructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
(3) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(4) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(5) Make sure that there is no (TPS) layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(6) Use a FLASHLIGHT and a MIRROR - INSPECTION for the inspection, if necessary.
4. Procedure(1) Remove the fasteners to inspect the holes. Refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 514200).
(2) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Non-destructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
(3) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(4) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(5) Make sure that there is no (TPS) layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(6) Use a FLASHLIGHT and a MIRROR - INSPECTION for the inspection, if necessary.
Subtask 54-51-00-250-058-A
A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection (ROTO) of the attachment bolts holes of the lateral panels splicing between RIB6 and RIB7 for damage or discontinuities. Do this inspection on the left and right sides. Refer to the Non-destructive Testing Manual ( NTM 545309) task.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
5. Close-up(1) Do a special detailed inspection (ROTO) of the attachment bolts holes of the lateral panels splicing between RIB6 and RIB7 for damage or discontinuities. Do this inspection on the left and right sides. Refer to the Non-destructive Testing Manual ( NTM 545309) task.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
- If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
- If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.
Subtask 54-51-00-390-055-A
A. Sealant or Paint Application
(1) If the NTM procedure asked to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant (refer to SRM 512400) or paint (refer to SRM 512300) on the inspection area.
Subtask 54-51-00-420-089-A (1) If the NTM procedure asked to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant (refer to SRM 512400) or paint (refer to SRM 512300) on the inspection area.
B. Installation of the Components
(1) Refer to the installation drawing in the SRM identification section for the new fastener references.
(2) Install the fasteners of the inspected holes. Refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 514200).

C. Installation of the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) Angle Assembly
(1) Install the RMF angle assembly (2) on the left side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
(b) Install the screw (3) and tighten it.
(c) Install the screws (4), (5), (6) and (7) and the nuts (1).
(d) Tighten the nuts (1).
(2) Install the RMF angle assembly (8) on the right side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
(b) Install the screw (13) and tighten it.
(c) Install the screws (10), (11) and (12) and the nuts (9).
(d) Tighten the nuts (9).
Subtask 54-51-00-410-136-A (1) Install the RMF angle assembly (2) on the left side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Put and hold the RMF angle assembly (2) in position on the pylon box. (b) Install the screw (3) and tighten it.
(c) Install the screws (4), (5), (6) and (7) and the nuts (1).
(d) Tighten the nuts (1).
(2) Install the RMF angle assembly (8) on the right side of the pylon box between RIB5 and RIB8. To do this:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL EACH OF THE SCREWS IN ITS CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(c) Install the screws (10), (11) and (12) and the nuts (9).
(d) Tighten the nuts (9).
D. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the Rear Mount Fairing (RMF) door (Ref. AMM TASK 54-57-22-400-815):
(a) For the left pylon: 473AL 473AR
(b) For the right pylon: 483AL 483AR.
(3) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-803):
(a) For the left pylon: 415BL 415BR 415CR
(b) For the right pylon: 425BL 425BR 425CR.
(4) Install the power plant (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-400-803).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Close the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806):

(5) Remove the access platform(s).
