A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

(1) Clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , if necessary.

4. Procedure

A. Inspection

Pylon Forward Mount-Fitting, Forward of RIB1 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Do a detailed inspection of the pylon forward mount-fitting. This inspection is applicable on the structure forward of RIB1.

NOTE: Do this inspection without removal of the bolts, nuts and washers.

(2) Make sure that there is no:
(a) Corrosion damage:
- If there is corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
- If there is other damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and associated corrective action.
