B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.

(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 415
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 425.
(2) Remove the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802):
(a) For the left pylon: 415AL 415BL 415AR 415BR 415CR

E. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If it is not, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

(1) Do a visual check of the pylon drainage system in zone C:
(a) Do a check of the drain lines of zone C and make sure that there is no disconnection or fracture in the drain lines. Use a FLASHLIGHT and a MIRROR - INSPECTION, FLEXIBLE, if necessary.
(b) Do a check of the drain hole in zone C and make sure that the drain hole is not blocked.

(1) Install the pylon lateral access-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-802):
