CAUTION: THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. 3. Job Set-up
Subtask 54-50-00-941-069-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (3) On the overhead panel, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
     (a) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
     (b) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton is released (the OFF legend is on).
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to push the APU BLEED and ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switches.
   (4) On the center pedestal, on FLAPS panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the flap and slat control lever is in the "0" (fully retracted) position.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to move the slat and flap control lever.
   (5) Obey the safety procedure of the hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (6) On the overhead panel, on the HYD section of control panel 40VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) PUMP pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legend is on).
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic applicable system:
       1 On HYD/FUEL panel 40VU
       2 On the ground service panel of the applicable hydraulic system.
   (7) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoirs of the applicable hydraulic system.
   (8) Obey the fuel safety procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (9) Defuel the applicable aircraft wing-tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).

   (1) Make the aircraft stable (Ref. AMM TASK 05-57-00-200-001).

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

E. Depressurization of the Hydraulic Systems
WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU DEPRESSURIZED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. IF YOU LOOSEN A HYDRAULIC TUBE FITTING WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, YOU CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Depressurize the applicable hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
NOTE: 4020KM1 (ENG1) supplies the GREEN hydraulic system and 4020KM2 (ENG2) supplies the YELLOW hydraulic system.
   (2) Depressurize the reservoirs of the applicable hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

   (1) Remove the access skin panels (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-11-000-807):

   (2) Remove the pylon-to-wing access panels and doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-806):

     (a) For the left wing: 521EB
     (b) For the right wing: 621EB.

I. Removal of the Fairings
   (1) Remove the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-804).
   (2) Remove the Aft Pylon Fairing (APF) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-56-00-000-803).

J. Removal of the Engine Fire-Extinguisher Bottles
   (1) Remove the engine fire-extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-50-00-020-092-A
A. Disconnection of the Fuel/Defuel System Components
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) in position below the fuel connections.
   (2) Disconnect the fuel recirculation check-valve from its connection adjacent to RIB7 of the pylon box (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-000-001).
   (3) Disconnect the fuel line coupling from its connection adjacent to RIB5 of the pylon box. To do this:
     (a) Remove the nuts (21) and the bolts (20) from the clamps (17).
     (b) Disconnect the bonding straps (18), (19) and (23) from the clamps (17).
     (c) Remove the clamps (17) from the pipe (22).
     (d) Remove the nuts (15), the bolts (31), the washers (30) and the clamps (14).
     (e) Disengage the sleeves (29) from the fuel pipe assemblies (32) and (33).
     (f) Move the sleeves (29) on the pipe (22).
     (g) Remove the pipe (22) from the fuel pipe assemblies (32) and (33). To do this:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       1 Remove the lockwires from the connectors (28) and the nuts (16) and (27) and discard them.
       2 Loosen the nuts (16) and (27).
       3 Remove the nuts (16) and (27) and the connectors (28).
       4 Remove the pipe (22) from the fuel pipe assemblies (32) and (33).
       5 Remove the retaining rings (26) from the pipe (22) and discard them.
       6 Discard the O-rings (24) and (25).
       7 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
     (h) Remove the retaining rings (13) from the fuel pipe assemblies (32) and (33) and discard them.
     (i) Remove the O-rings (11) and (12) from the fuel pipe assemblies (32) and (33) and discard them.
     (j) Put blanking caps on the disconnected fuel pipe assemblies (32) and (33).
Subtask 54-50-00-020-093-A
B. Disconnection of the Bleed Air Duct
   (1) Disconnect electrical connectors 6HA1-A (6HA2-A) (23) and 6HA1-B (6HA2-B) (22) from the temperature sensors.
   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Remove the insulation muff from the bleed air duct.
   (4) Loosen the clamps (24) and (26).
   (5) Remove the sleeve assembly (25) with the clamps (24) and (26) from the bleed air duct.
   (6) Remove the seal (27) and discard it.
   (7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 54-50-00-020-102-A
C. Disconnection of the Hydraulic Lines
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 2 L (0.53 USGAL) in position below the hydraulic connections.
   (2) Disconnect the hydraulic connectors (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) from their connections.
   (3) Put blanking plugs on the disconnected hydraulic ports.
   (4) Disengage the case drain line (22) and the pressure reservoir line (23) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
     (a) The screws (21) and the washers (20)
     (b) The clamp blocks (24) and the deflector (19).
   (5) Disengage the return line (17) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
     (a) The screws (14) and the washers (15)
     (b) The clamp (16) from the bracket (8).
   (6) Disengage the pressure line (18) and the suction line (10) from the wing structure. To do this, remove:
     (a) The screws (12) and the washers (13)
     (b) The screws (6) and the washers (7)
     (c) The bracket (8), the clamp (11) and the bracket (9).
   (7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 54-50-00-020-094-A
D. Disconnection of the Electrical Lines
   (1) Disconnect the feeder cables from the right side of the forward fairing structure:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM. IF YOU MAKE AN ERROR WHEN YOU CONNECT THE WIRES YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Remove the lockwires from terminal block 400VT1 (400VT2) (45) and discard them.
     (b) Remove the covers (44).
     (c) Remove the nuts (47) and the washers (46).
     (d) Make match marks on all electrical feeders before you disconnect them.
     (e) Disconnect the electrical feeders from terminal block 400VT1 (400VT2) (45).
CAUTION: WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
     (f) Remove the cable supports (43), (36) and (31) from the right side of the forward fairing structure:
       1 Cable supports (43):
         a Remove the screws (40) and the washers (41).
         b Remove the clamps (42).
         c Remove the cable supports (43) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
       2 Cable supports (36):
         a Remove the nuts (35) and (37).
         b Remove the screws (33) and (39) and the washers (34) and (38).
         c Remove the cable supports (36) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
       3 Cable support (31):
         a Remove the screws (28) and the washers (29).
         b Remove the clamps (30).
         c Remove the cable supports (31) with the clampblock plates (32) from the right side of the forward fairing structure.
     (g) Disconnect connector 424VC1A (424VC2A).
     (h) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
     (i) Disengage the cables from the pylon and put them on the wing.
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections adjacent to RIB8 of the pylon box:
     (a) For the left pylon:
471VCA, 473VCA and 475VCA
     (b) For the right pylon:
470VCA, 472VCA and 474VCA.
   (3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections at the wing closing rib:
CAUTION: WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
     (a) Remove the bolts (49) and the washers (48).
     (b) Disengage the plate (50).
     (c) Remove the nut (58) and the washer (59).
     (d) Remove the screw (62) and the washer (61).
     (e) Remove the clamp (60).
     (f) Remove the nut (57) and the washer (56).
     (g) Remove the screw (51) and the washer (52).
     (h) Remove the clamp (53), the spacer (54) and the clamp (55).
     (i) Disconnect the electrical connectors from their connections at the wing closing rib and put them on the pylon:
       1 For the left pylon:

   (1) Remove the bolts (64).
   (2) Disconnect the bonding straps (63) from the bonding brackets that are installed on the pylon box at RIB6.

F. Installation of the Pylon Removal/Installation Trolley
   (1) Put a CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB) in position.
   (2) Attach the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON to the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
   (3) Put the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON below the pylon.
   (4) Attach the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON to the forward engine-to-pylon attach-fittings and to the aft engine-to-pylon attach fittings (RIB5).

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
G. Disconnection of the Pylon-to-Wing Attach-Fittings
NOTE: You disassemble the pylon-to-wing attach-fittings at their bottom attachment.
NOTE: During the removal of the sleeves with the crane, you gradually apply a vertical force on the pylon. You apply this force until it is possible to remove the sleeves.
   (1) Remove the aft fail-safe pins and the sleeves at RIB10. To do this:
     (a) Remove the cotter pins (70) and discard them.
     (b) Lock the fail-safe pins (66) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
     (c) Remove the nuts (69) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
     (d) Remove the fail-safe pins (66).
     (e) Release the tab washers (67).
     (f) Lock the sleeves (65) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and release the nuts (68).
     (g) Remove the nuts (68) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
     (h) Remove the tab washers (67) and discard them.
     (i) Remove the sleeves (65) with the 98D54003005001 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR.
   (2) Remove the forward fail-safe pins and the sleeves at RIB5. To do this:
     (a) Remove the cotter pins (76) and discard them.
     (b) Lock the fail-safe pins (71) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
     (c) Remove the nuts (75) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
     (d) Remove the fail-safe pins (71).
     (e) Release the tab washers (73).
     (f) Lock the sleeves (72) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and release the nuts (74).
     (g) Remove the nuts (74) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
     (h) Remove the tab washers (73) and discard them.
     (i) Remove the sleeves (72) with the 98D54003005001 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR.

H. Removal of the Pylon
CAUTION: WHEN YOU REMOVE THE PYLON, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO FRICTION OR STRAIN AT THE SHACKLES AND THE SPIGOT FITTING. FRICTION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SHACKLES AND THE SPIGOT FITTING.
   (1) Lower the pylon and move it away from the wing with the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
   (2) Put the pylon and the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON on the ground.
   (3) Install the 98D54403007000 PYLON HANDLING FOR PW AND CFM on the pylon and the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
   (4) Remove the 98D54403006000 R/I PYLON from the pylon.
   (5) Put the pylon on the 98A54003117000 TROLLEY-PYLON STORAGE.
   (6) Remove the 98D54403007000 PYLON HANDLING FOR PW AND CFM from the pylon and the CRANE HEIGHT 5 M (16FT), 1500 KG (3300 LB).
