CAUTION: WHEN YOU INSTALL THE OIL COOLER OR THE TUBES, MAKE SURE THAT THE TUBES ARE FULLY AND TIGHTLY INSTALLED IN THE OIL COOLER OR GEARBOX MATING HOUSINGS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THERE IS A RISK THAT OIL LEAKAGE CAUSES A SMELL IN THE CABIN.
A. Installation of the Oil Tubes
NOTE: More lubrication on the o-rings and housing during assembly will help with full installation of tubes and the housing.
   (1) Installation of the Oil Tubes for APU PRE SN P-6824 and PRE Honeywell SB 131-49-8205:

     (a) Remove the blanking plugs from the oil tubes (1) and (2), the bypass valve (5) and the gear box housing (9).
     (b) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) to the new AIPC 49-21-09-03-050 PACKING (7) or AIPC 49-21-84-30-120 PACKING (7) and to the new AIPC 49-21-09-03-050 PACKING (4) or AIPC 49-21-84-30-120 PACKING (4).
     (c) Install the new packings (7) and (4) on the oil tubes (1) and (2).
     (d) Install the Oil Return Tube (2) and Oil Supply Tube (1) into the gear box housing (9) and bypass valve (5).
NOTE: The Oil Supply Tube and the Oil Return Tube are installed in one orientation only, due to different angles at the tube ends.
     (e) Make sure that the Oil Return Tube (2) and Oil Supply Tube (1) are connected to their correct connections in the bypass valve (5).
     (f) Turn the tube clamps (3) and (8) to lock the tubes in the Oil Cooler.
     (g) TORQUE the nuts (6) to between 0.51 and 0.45 m.daN (45.13 and 39.82 lbf.in )
T.
   (2) Installation of the Oil Supply and Return Tubes for APU POST SN P-6824, or for APU PRE SN P-6824 and POST Honeywell SB 131-49-8205:

     (a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
     (b) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) to the new AIPC 49-21-09-03-050 PACKINGS (6) or AIPC 49-21-84-30-120 PACKINGS (6).
