A. Installation of the PMG and Cooling Fan Assembly
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
CAUTION: -YOU MUST NOT INCREASE THE TIGHTENING TORQUE MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM VALUE.
  • APPLY ALL TIGHTENING TORQUES WITH A TORQUE WRENCH OR A CALIBRATED SCREWDRIVER.
CAUTION: DO NOT TORQUE THE V-CLAMP(S) TO MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED VALUE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLANGE SURFACES.
   (1) Preparation for installation:
     (a) Clean and do an inspection of the fan and APU interfaces for damage.
     (b) Do a visual inspection of the cooling-fan shaft gear-teeth for wear or missing teeth.
     (c) Do an inspection of the internal gear-teeth through the gearbox hole, for wear or missing teeth.
     (d) Clean and do an inspection of the ducts and clamps for damage and replace as necessary.
