A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) On the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (ON legend is off).
   (3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
   (1) Make sure that the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY is put and attached before you start work in the work area.
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the APU compartment.
   (3) Make sure that APU access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (4) Make sure that the light switch 11LJ is in the ON position.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. BITE Test the APU Bleed Air System.
   (1) Energize the CFDS to get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST page for the APU (
Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-001).
   (2) Set the APU MASTER SW 14KD to ON.
   (3) Do this Test.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the MCDU:
  • push the pushbutton adjacent to the APU indication.
On the MCDU:
  • the APU menu page comes on.
  • push the pushbutton adjacent to the SYSTEM SELF-TEST indication.
  • the APU SYSTEM SELF-TEST page comes on and shows the message
    IN PROGRESS.
  • if the test is satisfactory, the message
    TEST OK
    comes on.
2.On the MCDU:
  • push the pushbutton adjacent to the RETURN display until the CFDS page comes on.

D. Test the APU Bleed Air System.
   (1) Start and operate the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008).

   (2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU, make sure that the X-BLEED switch is in the AUTO position.
   (3) Do these steps:

1.On the ECAM control panel 11VU:
  • push the BLEED pushbutton switch.
On the ECAM lower display unit:
  • the BLEED page comes on.
2.On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • push the APU BLEED switch to the ON position.
On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • the blue ON light in the APU BLEED switch comes on.
    On the ECAM lower display unit:
  • the X-BLEED valve indication shows open.
  • the APU BLEED valve indication shows open.
3.On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • push the PACK 1 and PACK 2 pushbutton switches to the ON position.
On the ECAM lower display unit:
  • the system operation pressure is displayed. (It must be between 0.689 bar (9.9931 psi) and 2.068 bar (29.9938 psi)).
4.On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • push the PACK 1 and the PACK 2 pushbutton switches to the OFF position.
On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • the OFF lights in the PACK 1 and PACK 2 pushbutton switches come on.
5.On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • push the APU BLEED switch to the off position.
On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • the blue ON light goes off in the APU BLEED switch. On the ECAM lower display unit:
  • the APU BLEED valve indication shows closed.
  • the X-BLEED valve indication shows closed.
   (4) Examine the bleed load control valve connections for leaks (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-790-006). There must be no air leakage. The position indicator on the valve must indicate closed.
   (5) Shut-down the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).

Subtask 49-51-51-410-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Set the light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
   (3) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the safety harness.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
