3. Job Set-up
Subtask 49-32-12-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) On the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (ON legend is off).
   (3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the APU.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
   (1) Make sure that the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY is put attached before you start work in the work area.
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the APU compartment.
   (3) Make sure that APU access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (4) Make sure that the light switch 11LJ is in the ON position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 49-32-12-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Flow Divider and Drain Valve Assembly.
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
CAUTION: -YOU MUST NOT INCREASE THE TIGHTENING TORQUE MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM VALUE.
  • APPLY ALL TIGHTENING TORQUES WITH A TORQUE WRENCH OR A CALIBRATED SCREWDRIVER.
   (1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (1) with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) .
   (2) Install the flow divider (6) with the bolts (1).
   (3) TORQUE the bolts (1) to between 56 and 51 lbf.in (0.63 and 0.58 m.daN ) T.
   (4) Remove the blanking caps from the ends of the tubes (4) and (5).
   (5) Connect the tubes (4) and (5) to the flow divider (6).
   (6) TORQUE the tube nuts (4) and (5) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
   (7) Remove the blanking caps from the ends of the main fuel manifold (2) and the pilot fuel manifold (3).
   (8) Connect the main fuel manifold (2) to the flow divider (6).
   (9) TORQUE the main fuel manifold tube nut (2) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
   (10) Connect the pilot fuel manifold (3) to the flow divider (6).
   (11) TORQUE the pilot fuel manifold tube nut (3) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the APU (
Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-710-008).
   (2) Operate the APU for min. five minutes and examine the joints of the flow divider for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
5. Close-up
Subtask 49-32-12-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Set the light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
   (3) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the safety harness.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
