Subtask 49-26-55-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is in the OFF position.
(3) On panel 25VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the APU is in position.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
Subtask 49-26-55-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is in the OFF position.
(3) On panel 25VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the APU is in position.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Make sure that APU access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Make sure that APU access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
Subtask 49-26-55-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Gearbox Vent Tube
(a) TORQUE the union fitting (6) to between 42 and 38 lbf.in (0.47 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(2) Apply Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) to the threads of the union fitting (6).
(3) Install the packings (2) in the gearbox vent tube (1). If necessary, install new AIPC 49-21-09-01-030 PACKING (2).
(4) Install the grommets of the gearbox vent tube (1) in the clamps of the APU.
(5) Install the grommets of the wiring harness in the clamps of the gearbox vent tube (1).
(6) Connect the gearbox vent tube (1) to the union fitting (6) with the nut (5).

(7) Connect the gearbox vent tube (1) to the air/oil separator adapter (3) with the retainer bolt (4).
(a) TORQUE the retainer bolt (4) to between 52.5 and 47.5 lbf.in (0.59 and 0.54 m.daN )
.
(8) Make sure that the gearbox vent tube (1) is correctly installed in the air/oil separator adapter (3).
(9) Make sure that the retainer of the gearbox vent tube (1) is flush with the surface of the air/oil separator adapter (3).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PARTS, BE CAREFUL NOT TO HIT THE COMPONENTS ADJACENT TO THE APU. DAMAGE TO THESE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
(1) Install the union fitting (6) in the turbine bearing housing. (a) TORQUE the union fitting (6) to between 42 and 38 lbf.in (0.47 and 0.43 m.daN )
. (2) Apply Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) to the threads of the union fitting (6).
(3) Install the packings (2) in the gearbox vent tube (1). If necessary, install new AIPC 49-21-09-01-030 PACKING (2).
(4) Install the grommets of the gearbox vent tube (1) in the clamps of the APU.
(5) Install the grommets of the wiring harness in the clamps of the gearbox vent tube (1).
(6) Connect the gearbox vent tube (1) to the union fitting (6) with the nut (5).
CAUTION:
YOU MUST USE TWO WRENCHES AND HOLD THE COMPONENT WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE PIPE COUPLINGS AND/OR UNIONS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
(a) TORQUE the nut (5) to between 189 and 171 lbf.in (2.14 and 1.93 m.daN )
. (7) Connect the gearbox vent tube (1) to the air/oil separator adapter (3) with the retainer bolt (4).
(a) TORQUE the retainer bolt (4) to between 52.5 and 47.5 lbf.in (0.59 and 0.54 m.daN )
. (8) Make sure that the gearbox vent tube (1) is correctly installed in the air/oil separator adapter (3).
(9) Make sure that the retainer of the gearbox vent tube (1) is flush with the surface of the air/oil separator adapter (3).
Subtask 49-26-55-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
(3) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 49-26-55-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Set light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
(3) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Pressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Pressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
