Subtask 49-21-00-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Subtask 49-21-00-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(2) Make sure that one side of the blade of the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT is at a quarter of a turn from the end of the insert (1).
(3) Lightly hit the head of the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT with a HAMMER - BALL PEEN.
(4) Slowly turn the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT in the counterclockwise direction while you keep a constant pressure until the insert (1) is removed.
(5) Discard the removed insert (1).
(6) Remove all the burrs, dirt, chips or unwanted materials from the hole of the removed insert (1).
(7) Examine the condition of the internal threads of the hole.
(8) If necessary, clean the internal thread with the TAP INSTALLATION TOOL - INSERT.
(9) Install a new AIPC 49-21-04-53-130 INSERT (1) with the INSTALLATION TOOL - INSERT.
(10) Make sure that the end of the insert (1) top is between 0.5 to 1 threads below the surface.
(11) Break the driver tang with the TANG BREAK-OFF TOOL.
(12) Discard the driver tang.

LOCK THE MECHANISM OF THE ACCESS DOOR 316AR WITH THE PIP PIN WHEN YOU OPEN THE ACCESS DOOR. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
(4) Remove the load-compressor buffer-pressure tube-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 49-21-00-200-801).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Open APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3) Set light switch 11LJ to the ON position.
(4) Remove the load-compressor buffer-pressure tube-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 49-21-00-200-801).

A. Visual Inspection of the Inserts of the Load-Compressor Buffer-Pressure Tube-Assembly
(1) Do a visual inspection of the inserts (1) and (2).
(2) Make sure that the inserts (1) and (2) are not loose or removed.
(3) If the inserts (1) and/or (2) are loose or removed, replace them.

CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU USE THE TOOL, READ THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS, AND, WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
B. Replacement of an Insert of the Load-Compressor Buffer-Pressure Tube-Assembly NOTE: This inspection procedure is given for the insert (1) but it is also applicable to the insert (2).
(1) Put the blade of the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT into the insert (1). (2) Make sure that one side of the blade of the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT is at a quarter of a turn from the end of the insert (1).
(3) Lightly hit the head of the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT with a HAMMER - BALL PEEN.
(4) Slowly turn the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT in the counterclockwise direction while you keep a constant pressure until the insert (1) is removed.
(5) Discard the removed insert (1).
(6) Remove all the burrs, dirt, chips or unwanted materials from the hole of the removed insert (1).
(7) Examine the condition of the internal threads of the hole.
(8) If necessary, clean the internal thread with the TAP INSTALLATION TOOL - INSERT.
(9) Install a new AIPC 49-21-04-53-130 INSERT (1) with the INSTALLATION TOOL - INSERT.
(10) Make sure that the end of the insert (1) top is between 0.5 to 1 threads below the surface.
(11) Break the driver tang with the TANG BREAK-OFF TOOL.
(12) Discard the driver tang.
C. Inspection of the Installed Insert
(2) Installation of the bolt:
(3) TORQUE the bolt to between 0.024 and 0.023 m.daN (2.12 and 2.04 lbf.in )
to measure the minimum torque necessary to make the bolt move in relation to the insert (1).
(4) TORQUE the bolt to between 0.15 and 0.14 m.daN (13.27 and 12.39 lbf.in )
to install it into the insert (1).
(5) If one of the torque values is not in the limits, replace the insert (1) again.
5. Close-upNOTE: This inspection procedure is given for the insert (1) but it is also applicable to the insert (2).
(1) Get a new bolt, longer than the depth of the hole. (2) Installation of the bolt:
CAUTION:
INSTALL THE BOLT SLOWLY. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, THE TEMPERATURE OF THE BOLT CAN INCREASE.
(a) Install the bolt fully into the insert (1) until three threads of the bolt come out of the end of the insert (1). (3) TORQUE the bolt to between 0.024 and 0.023 m.daN (2.12 and 2.04 lbf.in )
to measure the minimum torque necessary to make the bolt move in relation to the insert (1). (4) TORQUE the bolt to between 0.15 and 0.14 m.daN (13.27 and 12.39 lbf.in )
to install it into the insert (1). (5) If one of the torque values is not in the limits, replace the insert (1) again.

A. Close Access
(1) Install the load-compressor buffer-pressure tube-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 49-21-00-200-801).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Set light switch 11LJ to the OFF position.
(4) Close APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).

(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
