Subtask 49-16-51-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (ON legend is off).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
Subtask 49-16-51-865-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) On the overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released (ON legend is off).
(3) On the APU section of overhead panel 25VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Get Access
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below access door 314AR.
(3) Make sure that access door 314AR is open and safetied in the open position.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
(4) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT.
(5) Make sure that the catwalk panel is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-000-005).
4. ProcedureWARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
(1) Make sure that the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY is put and attached before you start work in the work area.(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below access door 314AR.
(3) Make sure that access door 314AR is open and safetied in the open position.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
(4) If necessary, use a FLASHLIGHT.
(5) Make sure that the catwalk panel is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-000-005).
Subtask 49-16-51-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make an inspection of the air intake flap and the structure fittings for cracks and corrosion. Replace the fittings, if necessary.
(2) Close and open the air intake flap manually and examine the adjustment. Adjust the air intake flap, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-400-002).
(3) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to all the mating surfaces. Do not apply the sealant to the bonding jumper (21) or its mating surface.
(4) Before you connect the air-intake flap actuator (6), remove the bellows (12):
(a) Remove the screws (14), washers (13), ring (9) and bellows (12).
(5) Make an inspection of the bellows (12) for cracks and damage.
(a) If necessary, install new AIPC 49-16-04-03-080 BELLOWS (12) or AIPC 49-16-84-40-390 BELLOWS (12).
(6) Attach the clamp (11) to the bellows (12).
(7) Put the bellows (12) with the clamp (11) through the arm of the air-intake flap actuator (6).
(8) TORQUE the clamp (11) to between 0.31 and 0.25 m.daN (27.43 and 22.12 lbf.in )

Subtask 49-16-51-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make an inspection of the air intake flap and the structure fittings for cracks and corrosion. Replace the fittings, if necessary.
(2) Close and open the air intake flap manually and examine the adjustment. Adjust the air intake flap, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-400-002).
(3) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to all the mating surfaces. Do not apply the sealant to the bonding jumper (21) or its mating surface.
(4) Before you connect the air-intake flap actuator (6), remove the bellows (12):
(a) Remove the screws (14), washers (13), ring (9) and bellows (12).
(5) Make an inspection of the bellows (12) for cracks and damage.
(a) If necessary, install new AIPC 49-16-04-03-080 BELLOWS (12) or AIPC 49-16-84-40-390 BELLOWS (12).
(6) Attach the clamp (11) to the bellows (12).
(7) Put the bellows (12) with the clamp (11) through the arm of the air-intake flap actuator (6).
(8) TORQUE the clamp (11) to between 0.31 and 0.25 m.daN (27.43 and 22.12 lbf.in )
. B. Installation of the Air-Intake Flap Actuator
(1) Hold the air intake flap in the top position.
(2) Make sure that the new air-intake flap actuator (6) is in the flap open position (retracted).
(4) Do not fully tighten the castle nut (2) at this time.
(5) Pull the bellows (12) up.
(6) Connect the air intake flap with the bolt (10), washers (15) and (22) and castle nut (16). Do not fully tighten the nut at this time.
(7) TORQUE the castle nut (2) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
and safety it with a new AIPC 49-16-04-03-070 COTTER PIN (1) or AIPC 49-16-84-40-350 COTTER PIN (1).
(8) Seal the cotter pin (1), castle nut (2), washers (3) and (4) and bolt (5) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) and apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) .
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(11) Connection of the electrical connector (18):
(12) Connect the bonding strap (21) with the screw (20) and the washer (19).
(13) Seal the connection with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) and apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) .
Subtask 49-16-51-820-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 49-16-51-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Hold the air intake flap in the top position.
(2) Make sure that the new air-intake flap actuator (6) is in the flap open position (retracted).
NOTE: Turn the manual override device on the air-intake flap actuator with a torque wrench until the actuator rod is in the retracted position (which agrees with the open position of the air intake flap).
For the 43-1-1100 Amendment 1 actuator a torque up to 0.3 m.daN (26.55 lbf.in) is permitted.
For the 106-1-1100-02 actuator, a torque up to 0.4 m.daN (35.40 lbf.in) is permitted.
Be careful when you come to the mechanical stop at the end of travel. If you turn the manual override device with a torque more than the limit, damage to the air-intake flap actuator will occur.
For the 43-1-1100 Amendment 1 actuator a torque up to 0.3 m.daN (26.55 lbf.in) is permitted.
For the 106-1-1100-02 actuator, a torque up to 0.4 m.daN (35.40 lbf.in) is permitted.
Be careful when you come to the mechanical stop at the end of travel. If you turn the manual override device with a torque more than the limit, damage to the air-intake flap actuator will occur.
NOTE: For the 43-1-1100 Amendment 1 actuator, approximately 47 turns are necessary on the manual override device for one full travel of the air-intake flap actuator.
For the 106-1-1100-02 actuator, approximately 87 turns are necessary on the manual override device for one full travel of the air-intake flap actuator.
(3) Put the air-intake flap actuator (6) in position and install the bolt (5), washers (3) and (4) and castle nut (2). For the 106-1-1100-02 actuator, approximately 87 turns are necessary on the manual override device for one full travel of the air-intake flap actuator.
(4) Do not fully tighten the castle nut (2) at this time.
(5) Pull the bellows (12) up.
(6) Connect the air intake flap with the bolt (10), washers (15) and (22) and castle nut (16). Do not fully tighten the nut at this time.
(7) TORQUE the castle nut (2) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
and safety it with a new AIPC 49-16-04-03-070 COTTER PIN (1) or AIPC 49-16-84-40-350 COTTER PIN (1). (8) Seal the cotter pin (1), castle nut (2), washers (3) and (4) and bolt (5) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) and apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) .
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(11) Connection of the electrical connector (18):
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Connect the electrical connector (18) and safety it with lockwire-corrosion resistant steel 0,8 mm. (12) Connect the bonding strap (21) with the screw (20) and the washer (19).
(13) Seal the connection with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) and apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) .
D. Final Installation of the Air-Intake Flap Actuator
(1) Pull the bellows (12) up again.
(2) TORQUE the castle nut (16) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
and safety it with a new AIPC 49-16-04-03-070 COTTER PIN (17) or AIPC 49-16-84-40-350 COTTER PIN (17).
(3) Seal the castle nut (16), washers (15) and (22) and bolt (10) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) and apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) .
(4) Install the ring (9), washers (13) and screws (14).
(5) If necessary, loosen the clamp (11) and adjust the bellows (12).
(a) TORQUE the clamp (11) to between 0.31 and 0.25 m.daN (27.43 and 22.12 lbf.in )

(6) Tighten the screws (14).
5. Close-up(1) Pull the bellows (12) up again.
(2) TORQUE the castle nut (16) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
and safety it with a new AIPC 49-16-04-03-070 COTTER PIN (17) or AIPC 49-16-84-40-350 COTTER PIN (17). (3) Seal the castle nut (16), washers (15) and (22) and bolt (10) with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) and apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) .
(4) Install the ring (9), washers (13) and screws (14).
(5) If necessary, loosen the clamp (11) and adjust the bellows (12).
(a) TORQUE the clamp (11) to between 0.31 and 0.25 m.daN (27.43 and 22.12 lbf.in )
. (6) Tighten the screws (14).
Subtask 49-16-51-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the catwalk panel (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-400-005).
(3) Close access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-410-801).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the safety harness.
Subtask 49-16-51-865-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the catwalk panel (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-400-005).
(3) Close access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-410-801).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the safety harness.
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
