A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) On the panel 25VU make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
   (3) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

C. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
   (2) Make sure that the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
   (3) Make sure that the LIGHT SW 11LJ is set to the ON position.
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the APU compartment.
   (5) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure
Subtask 49-11-00-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Generator Substitution Kit
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Remove the nuts (4) from the generator mounting flange (1).
   (3) Lubricate the screws (11) with Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) .
   (4) Install the seal plate (10) in the cover assembly (3) with the screws (11). Tighten the screws (11).
   (5) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine - - (Material No.03ABA1) or Synthetic base Lubricating Oil-Turbine Engine Low Temp. - (Material No.03ABB1) on a new AIPC 49-11-04-05-150 SEAL (2) and install the cover assembly (3) on the mounting flange (1).
   (6) Put the generator cable support (6) (Ref. AIPC 49-11-04-05-010) in position on the cover assembly (3).
   (7) Attach the cover assembly (3) and the generator cable support (6) with the nuts (4).
   (8) TORQUE the nuts (4) to between 4.4 and 3.9 m.daN (32.45 and 28.76 lbf.ft )

   (9) Safety of the drain plug (5):
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that the drain plug (5) is fully tightened and safetied with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (10) Remove the nuts (8) from the generator cable support (6).
NOTE: Refer to the marks on the generator cable support when you install the electrical cable connections.
   (11) Connect the electrical connector (7) and the electrical cables (9) to the generator cable support (6).
   (12) Secure the electrical cables (9) with the nuts (8).
   (13) Attach the electrical cables (9) with the clamp (14).
   (14) Install the spacer (15), clamp (14), washer (13), screw (12), washer (16) and nut (17) in the generator cable support (6).
   (15) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 0.24 and 0.22 m.daN (21.24 and 19.47 lbf.in )

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Test
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE CORRECT FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE.
   (1) Start and operate the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008).
   (2) Examine the joint between the mounting flange (1) and the cover assembly (3) for oil leakage.
NOTE: No leakage of oil is permitted.
   (3) Stop the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
5. Close-up
Subtask 49-11-00-410-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Set the LIGHT control SW 11LJ to the OFF position.
   (3) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR and (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the related hydraulic system in the pressurized configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Make an entry in the aircraft technical log book.
