Installation of the Tank Flush Line


WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the toilet system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 38-31-75-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Tank Flush Line
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the blanking caps/plugs from the parts as you do the procedure.
   (4) Install the flush lines (3) on the connections (4) at the top of the waste tank.
   (5) Install the two check valves (2) on the flush lines (3).
NOTE: Make sure that the arrow on each of the check valves points to the tank 3300MM.
   (6) Install the flush lines (1) and (5) and the T-shaped union (6).
   (7) Install the flush line (7) between the T-shaped union (6) and the connection (8) at the servicing panel.
   (8) Put the clamps (11) in position on the flush lines (1) and (7) and install the screws (13), the washers (10) and (12) and the nuts (9).
NOTE: The thin washers (12) go below the head of the screws (13).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the flush lines do not leak.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Install the access panels 161DW 162DW on the aft wall of the AFT cargo-compartment.
   (4) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
