Removal of the Pneumatic System Tubes and Hoses
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:

(2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
- make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on),
- make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off),
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off,
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position in zone 450 for engine 1 and in zone 460 for engine 2.

A. Remove the Pressure Regulator Valve (PRV) to Interface Hose Assembly
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
(4) Disconnect the hose assembly (5) from the bleed PRV (50).
(5) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the hose assembly (5), the engine tube and the PRV (50).
(6) Remove the hose assembly (5) from the engine.
Subtask 36-11-49-020-092-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Disconnect the hose assembly (5) from the engine tube. (4) Disconnect the hose assembly (5) from the bleed PRV (50).
(5) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the hose assembly (5), the engine tube and the PRV (50).
(6) Remove the hose assembly (5) from the engine.
B. Remove the Flexible Metal Pneumatic Hose Assembly
(1) Disconnect the hose assembly (10) from the engine tube.
(2) Disconnect the hose assembly (10) from the tube assembly (25).
(3) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the hose assembly (10) and the tube assembly (25).
(4) Remove the hose assembly (10) from the engine.
Subtask 36-11-49-020-093-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the hose assembly (10) from the engine tube.
(2) Disconnect the hose assembly (10) from the tube assembly (25).
(3) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the hose assembly (10) and the tube assembly (25).
(4) Remove the hose assembly (10) from the engine.
C. Removal of the Mid Stage Tee Duct to Pylon Interface Tube Assembly
(1) Disconnect the hose assembly (10) from the tube assembly (25).
(3) Remove the clamps (20) from the tube assembly (25).
(4) Remove the bolt (15) and the clamp (20) that attach the tube assembly (25) to the bracket at engine flange Sta. 215 (B8).
(5) Remove the clamp (20) from the tube assembly (25).
(6) Disconnect the tube assembly (25) from the union (35) on the mid stage tee duct.
(8) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the tube assembly (25), the union (35), and the hose (10).
(9) Remove the tube assembly (25) from the engine.
Subtask 36-11-49-020-094-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the hose assembly (10) from the tube assembly (25).
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the tube assembly when you loosen the coupling nut on the hose.
(2) Remove the bolts (15) and the clamps (20) that attach the tube assembly (25) to the brackets at engine flange Sta. 221 (B9). (Two locations). (3) Remove the clamps (20) from the tube assembly (25).
(4) Remove the bolt (15) and the clamp (20) that attach the tube assembly (25) to the bracket at engine flange Sta. 215 (B8).
(5) Remove the clamp (20) from the tube assembly (25).
(6) Disconnect the tube assembly (25) from the union (35) on the mid stage tee duct.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the union when you loosen the coupling nut on the tube.
(7) If necessary, remove the union (35) from the mid stage tee duct. (8) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the tube assembly (25), the union (35), and the hose (10).
(9) Remove the tube assembly (25) from the engine.
D. Removal of the PRV to HPV Tube Assembly
(1) Disconnect the hose tube assembly (40) from the bleed pressure regulator valve (50).
(2) Remove the bolt (15) and the clamp (20) that attach the hose tube assembly (40) to the bracket at engine flange Sta. 215 (B8).
(3) Remove the bolt (15), the nut (45) and the clamp (20) that attach the hose tube assembly (40) to the bracket at engine flange Sta. 215 (B8).
(4) Remove the clamps (20) from the hose tube assembly (40).
(5) Disconnect the tube assembly (40) from the HP regulator valve (30).
(6) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the two ends of the hose tube assembly (40) and the fittings on the valves (30) and (50).
(7) Remove the hose tube assembly (40) from the engine.
(1) Disconnect the hose tube assembly (40) from the bleed pressure regulator valve (50).
(2) Remove the bolt (15) and the clamp (20) that attach the hose tube assembly (40) to the bracket at engine flange Sta. 215 (B8).
(3) Remove the bolt (15), the nut (45) and the clamp (20) that attach the hose tube assembly (40) to the bracket at engine flange Sta. 215 (B8).
(4) Remove the clamps (20) from the hose tube assembly (40).
(5) Disconnect the tube assembly (40) from the HP regulator valve (30).
(6) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the two ends of the hose tube assembly (40) and the fittings on the valves (30) and (50).
(7) Remove the hose tube assembly (40) from the engine.
