4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-49-020-113-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Sense Line between the Bleed PRV and the Pylon Interface
   (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
   (2) In the cockpit, on the SD bleed page:
     (a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in ambient conditions.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
   (3) Remove the screw (4), the washer (5) and the nut (9) from the valve (1).
   (4) Attach the clamp (6) on the sense line (3).
   (5) Disconnect the sense line (3) between the port (12) of the pylon interface and the port (2) of the valve (1) as follows:.
     (a) Loosen the pneumatic unions a quarter turn with a WRENCH - STANDARD.
     (b) Remove the unions with your hand to prevent damage to the fitting end of the sense line (3).
     (c) Disconnect and remove the sense line (3).
     (d) Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
   (6) Remove the plug (10) from the storage port (11) of the pylon interface.
   (7) Clean the threads of the port (12) with a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) .
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU APPLY LUBRICANT, PUT TAPE ON THE UNION HOLES OF THE VALVE AND THE PYLON INTERFACE TO PREVENT LUBRICANT CONTAMINATION OF THE PNEUMATIC CONNECTION.
CAUTION: APPLY ONLY A THIN LAYER OF GREASE TO THE THREADS OF THE HOSE-ASSEMBLY COUPLING NUTS, AND REMOVE THE UNWANTED GREASE TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE HOSE ASSEMBLY. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH GREASE, IT CAN CAUSE CLOGGING OF THE HOSE ASSEMBLY OR DAMAGE TO THE RELATED COMPONENTS.
   (8) Apply a thin layer of Dry lubricant-General Assembly Molybdenum Disulfide & Silicone - (Material No.03QBC1) or Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) to the threads of the port (12).
NOTE: Apply lubricating material in the pylon interface port (12) before installation of the plug (10) to prevent clogging.
   (9) Put the plug (10) in position on the port (12) of the pylon interface.
WARNING: TIGHTEN THE PLUG(S) TO THE CORRECT TORQUE VALUE. IF YOU DO NOT TIGHTEN THEM SUFFICIENTLY, HOT AIR LEAKAGE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (10) TORQUE the plug (10) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft ) T.
   (11) Remove the plug (7) from the storage port (8) of the valve (1).
   (12) Clean the threads of the port (2) with a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.
14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Methyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBE1) .
   (13) Apply a thin layer of Dry lubricant-General Assembly Molybdenum Disulfide & Silicone - (Material No.03QBC1) or Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) to the threads of the port (2).
NOTE: Apply lubricating material in the valve port (2) before installation of the plug (7) to prevent clogging.
   (14) Put the plug (7) in position on the port (2) of the valve (1).
   (15) TORQUE the plug (7) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft ) T.
Subtask 36-11-49-480-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Prepare for the leak test
   (1) Do the steps that follow to install FOIL - ALUMINUM on the pylon interface around the plug:
  • Wind the foil wrap around the joint one time.
  • Twist the seam of the foil wrap tight.
  • Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the tube but do not cause damage to the wrap.
  • Attach the foil wrap at the two sides of the pneumatic joint with 14QEB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
