A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit on panel 30VU, to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU, to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Fully extend the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
WARNING: OPEN CIRCUIT BREAKERS 1JH, 2JH1, 2JH2, 3JH1 AND 3JH2 (ENGINE 1 AND 2 IGNITION SYSTEMS). THEN OPEN CIRCUIT BREAKERS 2KS1 AND 2KS2 (FADEC A AND EIU 1 AND 2) AND 4KS1 (FADEC B AND EIU 1). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE, THE ENGINE AUTOMATIC IGNITION- SYSTEM WILL OPERATE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.
   (3) Open circuit breakers:

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panels.
   (2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-005):
     (a) For the left wing: 521AB 521BB 521CB 521DB 521EB 521BT.
     (b) For the right wing: 621AB 621BB 621CB 621DB 621EB 621BT.
4. Procedure
Subtask 36-11-48-020-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Fuselage and the Slat Track 1

   (1) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muffs (2) and (7). Remove the insulation muffs (2) and (7).
   (2) Remove the clamps (4) and (6).
   (3) Remove the bleed-air duct (5) from the aircraft.
   (4) Remove the nut (12), the facing washer (11), the insulation washer (13) and the bolt (14). Remove the insulation washer (9) and the facing washer (8) from the bolt (14).
   (5) Disconnect the link assembly (10) from the bleed-air duct (1).
   (6) Remove the clamp (3).
   (7) Remove the bleed-air duct (1) from the aircraft.
   (8) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the bleed-air duct in the fuselage.
Subtask 36-11-48-020-081-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Removal of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Slat Track 1 and the Intermediate Rib

NOTE: You must remove the duct assembly (77) before you remove the bleed air ducts between the Slat Track 1 and the Intermediate Rib.
   (1) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muffs (24), (45) and (61). Remove the insulation muffs (24), (45) and (61).
   (2) Remove the nut (28), the washer (29) and the bolt (27). Disconnect the bonding leads (30) and (31) from the duct assembly (25).
   (3) Remove the nut (37), the washer (38) and the bolt (36). Disconnect the bonding lead (30) from the duct assembly (44).
   (4) Remove the nut (40), the washer (41) and the bolt (39). Disconnect the bonding lead (42) from the duct assembly (44).
   (5) Remove the nut (50), the washer (51) and the bolt (49). Disconnect the bonding lead (42) from the connector assembly (55).
   (6) Remove the nut (53), the washer (54) and the bolt (52). Disconnect the bonding lead (62) from the connector assembly (55).
   (7) Remove the nut (65), the washer (66) and the bolt (64). Disconnect the bonding leads (63) and (62).
   (8) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muffs (78) and (90). Remove the insulation muffs (78) and (90).
   (9) Remove the clamps (75) and (79).
   (10) Remove the duct assembly (77) and the sleeve assembly (76) from the aircraft.
   (11) Remove the bolts (56), the facing washers (57) and the insulation washers (58). Remove the connector assembly (55).
   (12) Remove and discard the two-piece seals (59) and (60) from the connector assembly (55).
   (13) Remove the nuts (48) and the bolts (47). Remove the rib assembly (46).
   (14) Carefully remove the duct assembly (44) from the tube assembly (43). Remove the duct assembly (44) and the tube assembly (43) from the aircraft.
   (15) Remove and discard the two-piece seal (35) from the duct assembly (44).
   (16) Remove the bolts (32), the facing washers (33) and the insulation washers (34).
   (17) Remove the duct assembly (25) and the tube assembly (26) from the aircraft.
Subtask 36-11-48-020-082-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Removal of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Intermediate Rib and the Closing Rib

NOTE: You must remove the bleed-air ducts from between the Slat Track 1 to the Intermediate Rib before you remove the bleed-air duct (82).
   (1) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muffs (78) and (90). Remove the insulation muffs (78) and (90).
   (2) Remove the clamps (75) and (79).
   (3) Remove the duct assembly (77) and the sleeve assembly (76) from the aircraft.
   (4) Remove the nut (84), the washer (85) and the bolt (83). Disconnect the bonding lead (86) from the duct assembly (82).
   (5) Remove the nut (93), the washer (92) and the bolt (91). Disconnect the bonding leads (86) and (94).
   (6) Carefully move the duct assembly (82) through the tube assemblies (80) and (81) and remove the duct assembly (82) from the aircraft.
   (7) Remove and discard the two-piece seal (87) from the duct assembly (82).
Subtask 36-11-48-020-083-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Removal of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Closing Rib and the Pylon

   (1) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muffs (112) and (122). Remove the insulation muffs (112) and (122).
   (2) Remove the temperature sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-17-000-001).
NOTE: The temperature sensor must be removed before the removal of the bleed air duct (113). This prevents possible damage to the adjacent structure/components.
   (3) For the right wing only, do these steps:
     (a) Remove the nuts (132) and the bolts (130).
     (b) Remove the nuts (127), the washers (128) and the bolts (129).
     (c) Remove the nuts (125) and the bolts (124).
     (d) Carefully position the cable carrier (131) to allow access for removal of the bracket (126).
     (e) Remove the bracket (126).
     (f) If necessary, disconnect the IDG feeder cables for better access to the bleed air duct (Ref. AMM TASK 24-92-00-000-002).
   (4) Remove and discard the cotter pins (117).
   (5) Remove the nuts (118), the washers (120) and the bolts (119). Disconnect the structural rods (114), (115) and (116).
   (6) Remove the clamps (111), (121) and (123).
   (7) Carefully remove the duct assembly (113) from the aircraft.
   (8) Remove the nuts (100), the bolts (101), the facing washers (102) and the insulation washers (103).
   (9) Remove the nuts (105), the washers (106) and (108) and the bolts (107). Remove the cable support bracket (109).
   (10) Carefully remove the duct assembly (104) and the insulation gasket (110).
   (11) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the pre-cooler duct.
Subtask 36-11-48-020-084-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
E. Removal of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Pylon and the Anti-ice Valve

   (1) Remove the anti-ice valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-11-51-000-001)
   (2) Remove and discard the braided wire from the insulation muff (159). Remove the insulation muff (159).
   (3) Remove the nut (142), the washer (143) and the bolt (144). Remove the bonding lead (145) from the duct assembly (146).
   (4) Remove the nut (150), the washer (151) and the bolt (152). Remove the bonding leads (145) and (153) from the duct assembly (154).
   (5) Remove the nut (165), the washer (167) and the bolt (166).
   (6) Remove the nuts (161) the washers (162) and (163) and the bolts (164). Remove the half clamps (168) and (169) and the link assemblies.
   (7) Loosen the vapor seal (160) from the duct assembly (170).
   (8) Remove the clamp (158).
   (9) Carefully remove the duct assembly (170) from the aircraft.
   (10) Remove the bolts (155) the washers (156) and the insulation gasket (157).
   (11) Remove the duct assemblies (156) and (146) from the aircraft.
   (12) Remove the flexible connector (148) from the duct assembly (154).
   (13) Remove and discard the seals (147) and (149).
