3. Job Set-up
Subtask 35-11-41-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the special precautions when you work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the access door 812.
   (3) Make sure that the access door 812 is open.
   (4) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) which tells persons not to push the OXYGEN/CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch is in position.

4. Procedure
WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
Subtask 35-11-41-420-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Crew Oxygen-Storage Cylinder (5750HM)
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the date on the oxygen storage cylinder (1) is not expired and that the cylinder is serviceable.
   (4) Do a visual inspection of the composite oxygen cylinder and make sure that there is no damage:
  • Abrasion (because of wear, grinding or rubbing)
  • Cuts
  • Dents
  • Delamination
  • Heat or fire damage
  • Structural damage
  • Chemical damage.
   (5) Make sure that all the protective shims are correctly installed and that they are in the correct conditions.
If not, do the applicable steps that follow:
     (a) If the shim (15) is damaged:
     (b) If the shim (17) is damaged:
NOTE: If Adhesive-Nylon & Rilsan Bonding Polyamide Legacy (Material No.05LRA9) is not available, you can use Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) .
     (c) If the shim (18) is damaged:
NOTE: If Adhesive-Nylon & Rilsan Bonding Polyamide Legacy (Material No.05LRA9) is not available, you can use Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) .
     (d) If the shim (20) is damaged:
     (e) If the shim (23) is damaged:
     (f) If the shim (21) is damaged:
   (6) Carefully put the oxygen storage cylinder (1) on the support (22) and between the clamps (19) and (24).
   (7) Put the pin (25) in the clamp (19).
   (8) Install the spacer (27) and the nut (16) on the pin (25).
   (9) Tighten the nut (16).
   (10) Install the collar assembly (12), the washers (13) and the nuts (14).
   (11) Make sure that the minimum distance "J" between the collar assembly (12) and the support (22) is 4 mm (0.16 in.).
   (12) TORQUE the nuts (14) to between 0.17 and 0.11 m.daN (15.04 and 9.73 lbf.in ) T.
   (13) Connect the overpressure hose as follows:
     (a) Remove the sealing cap (9) from the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (b) Put the sealing cap (9) in the bag (11).
     (c) Make sure that the overpressure outlet port (10) is serviceable.
     (d) Install a new
AIPC 35-12-01-01-010 RING (7) on the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (e) Make sure that the new ring (7) is in the correct installation position on the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (f) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the union (8).
     (g) Make sure that the union (8) is serviceable.
     (h) Connect the union (8) to the overpressure outlet port (10) but only on the first thread.
     (i) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-Fuel and Oxidized Environment Fluorinated - (Material No.
03GEE1) on the next three threads of the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (j) Tighten the union (8) with your hand.
     (k) TORQUE the union (8) to between 2.7 and 1.9 m.daN (19.91 and 14.01 lbf.ft ) T.
     (l) Put a red paint mark on the connection between the union (8) and the overpressure outlet port (10) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (14) Remove the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (3) from the BAG - VINYL.
   (15) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the nut (4) of the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (3).
   (16) Remove the sealing cap (2) from the cylinder valve outlet-port (5).
   (17) Put the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (3) in position on the cylinder valve outlet-port (5).
   (18) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 8.0 and 7.0 m.daN (59.00 and 51.62 lbf.ft ) T.
   (19) Put a red paint mark on the connection between the nut (4) and the cylinder valve outlet-port (5) (

Subtask 35-11-41-420-053-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Crew Oxygen-Storage Cylinder (5750HM)
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the date on the oxygen storage cylinder (1) is not expired and that the cylinder is serviceable.
   (4) Make sure that the protective bands (16) are in the correct condition.
   (5) Do a visual inspection of the composite oxygen cylinder only, and make sure that there is no damage:
     (a) Abrasion (because of wear, grinding or rubbing)
     (b) Cuts
     (c) Dents
     (d) Delamination
     (e) Heat or fire damage
     (f) Structural damage
     (g) Chemical damage.
   (6) Carefully put the oxygen storage cylinder (1) on the support (15) and between the clamps (14) and (13).
   (7) Engage the pin (11) in the clamp (14) and tighten the nut (12).
   (8) Remove the oxygen cylinder stowage-cap from the cylinder valve outlet-port (7).
   (9) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the union (10).
   (10) Make sure that the union (10) and the cylinder valve outlet-port (7) are serviceable.
   (11) Install a new AIPC 35-12-01-01-010 RING (9) on the cylinder valve outlet-port (7).
   (12) Make sure that the new ring (9) stays in the correct position on the cylinder valve outlet-port (7).
   (13) Connect the union (10) to the cylinder valve outlet-port (7) but only on the first thread.
   (14) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-Fuel and Oxidized Environment Fluorinated - (Material No.
03GEE1) on the next three threads of the cylinder valve outlet-port (7).
   (15) Tighten the union (10) with your hand.
   (16) TORQUE the union (10) to between 2.7 and 1.9 m.daN (19.91 and 14.01 lbf.ft ) T.
   (17) Put a red paint mark on the connection between the union (10) and the cylinder valve outlet-port (7) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (18) Remove the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (2) from the BAG - VINYL.
   (19) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (2).
   (20) Remove the sealing cap (4) from the cylinder valve outlet-port (5).
   (21) Put the sealing cap (4) in the bag (8).
   (22) Put the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (2) in position on the valve (6) and TORQUE the nut (3) to between 8.0 and 7.0 m.daN (59.00 and 51.62 lbf.ft ) T.
   (23) Put a red paint mark on the connection between the nut (3) and the cylinder valve outlet-port (5) (

Subtask 35-11-41-420-053-H ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Crew Oxygen-Storage Cylinder (5750HM)
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Make sure that the date on the oxygen storage cylinder (1) is not expired and the cylinder is serviceable.
   (5) Make sure that the protective bands (26) are in the correct condition.
   (6) Do a visual inspection of the composite oxygen cylinder only, and make sure that there is no damage:
     (a) Abrasion (because of wear, grinding or rubbing)
     (b) Cuts
     (c) Dents
     (d) Delamination
     (e) Heat or fire damage
     (f) Structural damage
     (g) Chemical damage.
   (7) Make sure that all the protective shims are correctly installed and they are in the correct conditions.
   (8) If the protective shims are not in correct condition, do the applicable steps that follow:
     (a) If the shim (15) is damaged:
     (b) If the shim (17) is damaged:
     (c) If the shim (18) is damaged:
     (d) If the shim (20) is damaged:
     (e) If the shim (23) is damaged:
     (f) If the shim (21) is damaged:
   (9) Carefully put the oxygen storage cylinder (1) on the support (22) and between the clamps (19) and (24).
   (10) Put the pin (25) in the clamp (19).
   (11) Install the spacer (27) and the nut (16) on the pin (25).
   (12) Tighten the nut (16).
   (13) Install the collar assembly (12), the washers (13) and the nuts (14).
   (14) Make sure that the minimum distance J between the collar assembly (12) and the support (22) is 4 mm (0.16 in.).
   (15) TORQUE the nuts (14) to between 0.17 and 0.11 m.daN (15.04 and 9.73 lbf.in ) T.
   (16) Connect the overpressure hose as follows:
     (a) Remove the sealing cap (9) from the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (b) Put the sealing cap (9) in the bag (11).
     (c) Make sure that the overpressure outlet port (10) is serviceable.
     (d) Install the new
AIPC 35-12-01-01-010 RING (7) on the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (e) Make sure that the new ring (7) stays in the correct position on the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (f) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the union (8).
     (g) Make sure that the union (8) is serviceable.
     (h) Connect the union (8) to the overpressure outlet port (10) but only on the first thread.
     (i) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-Fuel and Oxidized Environment Fluorinated - (Material No.
03GEE1) on the three next threads of the overpressure outlet port (10).
     (j) Tighten the union (8) with your hand.
     (k) TORQUE the union (8) to between 2.7 and 1.9 m.daN (19.91 and 14.01 lbf.ft ) T.
     (l) Put a red paint mark on the connection between the union (8) and the overpressure outlet port (10) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (17) Remove the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (3) from the BAG - VINYL.
   (18) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the nut (4) of the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (3).
   (19) Remove the sealing cap (2) from the cylinder valve outlet-port (5).
   (20) Put the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (3) in position on the cylinder valve outlet-port (5).
   (21) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 8.0 and 7.0 m.daN (59.00 and 51.62 lbf.ft ) T.
   (22) Put a red paint mark on the connection between the nut (4) and the cylinder valve outlet-port (5) (

Subtask 35-11-41-790-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Leak Test
CAUTION: TURN THE HANDVALVES ON ALL OXYGEN BOTTLES UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY OPEN. IF THE HANDVALVES ARE NOT FULLY OPEN BEFORE FLIGHT, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE OXYGEN PRESSURE DATA ON THE ECAM DOOR/OXY PAGE WILL NOT BE CORRECT.
   (1) Very slowly open the valve of the cylinder (5750 HM) 3 to 4 turns.
   (2) Let the pressure become stable.
NOTE: The pressure become stable after approximately 90 seconds.
   (3) Open the cylinder valve fully.
   (4) Apply the solution Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the mechanical connections.
   (5) Examine each connection to make sure that there are no leaks.
   (6) Rub off the solution Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Subtask 35-11-41-790-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Leak Test
CAUTION: TURN THE HANDVALVES ON ALL OXYGEN BOTTLES UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY OPEN. IF THE HANDVALVES ARE NOT FULLY OPEN BEFORE FLIGHT, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE OXYGEN PRESSURE DATA ON THE ECAM DOOR/OXY PAGE WILL NOT BE CORRECT.
   (1) Turn the valve of the cylinder (5750 HM) very slowly until it is fully open.
   (2) Apply the solution Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the mechanical connections.
   (3) Examine each connection to make sure that there are no leaks.
   (4) Rub off the solution Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the crew oxygen distribution (Ref. AMM TASK 35-12-00-710-001).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)

B. Close Access
   (1) Close the access door 812.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
