Removal of the Brake Selector Valve

MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the parking brake is OFF.
(4) Make sure that the brake accumulator is depressurized.

(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the parking brake is OFF.
(4) Make sure that the brake accumulator is depressurized.
C. Disconnection of the PTU Isolation Coupling
(1) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(2) Disconnect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(3) Obey the flight configuration precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
(5) Put the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT below the brake selector valve (11) to collect the hydraulic fluid leakage.
Subtask 32-42-11-865-050-A (1) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(2) Disconnect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(3) Obey the flight configuration precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
(5) Put the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT below the brake selector valve (11) to collect the hydraulic fluid leakage.

E. Safety Precautions
(1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:

- On the panel 40VU in the cockpit,
- On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
Subtask 32-42-11-020-051-B
A. Removal of the Brake Selector valve 23GG
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the brake selector valve (11).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the bolts (9), the washers (8) and the bonding strap (7).
(6) Carefully remove the brake selector valve (11) from the manifold assembly (1).
(7) Remove and discard the packings (2) and the back-up rings (3) from the bobbins (4).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(9) If necessary, remove the bobbins (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001). Remove and discard the seals (6) and the back-up rings (5).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the brake selector valve (11).
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(4) Cut and discard the corrosion resistant steel lockwire 0.6 mm (0.024 in.) from the bolts (9). (5) Remove the bolts (9), the washers (8) and the bonding strap (7).
(6) Carefully remove the brake selector valve (11) from the manifold assembly (1).
(7) Remove and discard the packings (2) and the back-up rings (3) from the bobbins (4).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(9) If necessary, remove the bobbins (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001). Remove and discard the seals (6) and the back-up rings (5).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
