Subtask 32-33-11-860-050-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) Make sure that the NLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below the lateral avionics-compatment door 822.
(6) Make sure that the lateral avionics-compartment door 822 is open.
(7) Make sure that the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (26) is in position on the lower bellcrank (27).
(8) Make sure that the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (20) is in position on the cable quadrant (21).

Subtask 32-33-11-110-050-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the connection components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry them with dry filtered compressed-air.
(2) Apply a thin coat of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the fasteners and on the splined shaft.
Subtask 32-33-11-420-050-A (1) Clean the connection components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry them with dry filtered compressed-air.
(2) Apply a thin coat of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the fasteners and on the splined shaft.
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
B. Installation of the Control Handle
(1) Remove the cotter pin (30) and discard it, then remove the nut (29) and the washer (28).
(2) Remove the bolt (22) and disconnect the rod (25).
(3) Cut and remove the lockwire and loosen the check nut (32) and fully loosen the bolt (33).
(4) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (26).
(5) Turn the input shaft until the toothed sector comes against the gearbox.
(6) Put the handle assembly (15) in position in its housing and install the splined connection.
(8) Connect the plugs (14) to the panel (13) and install the panel.
(9) Install the screws (12).
(10) Make sure that the handle assembly is correctly centered in relation to the structure.
Subtask 32-33-11-820-051-A (1) Remove the cotter pin (30) and discard it, then remove the nut (29) and the washer (28).

NOTE: With the reduction gearbox in the NORMAL position, turn the input shaft by one notch maximum to make a connection that has no stress.
(7) Install the screws (6), the bushes (10), the washers (11) and the nuts (4). (8) Connect the plugs (14) to the panel (13) and install the panel.
(9) Install the screws (12).
(10) Make sure that the handle assembly is correctly centered in relation to the structure.
C. Adjust the NLG free-fall extension system
(1) Lock the handle in this position with the SHIM - ALUMINUM OR PLASTIC.
(2) Turn the NORMAL position stop-bolt (33) until it touches the internal toothed sector (34).
(3) Tighten the check nut (32) and lock the bolt (33) with lockwire corrosion resistant steel 0.8mm (0.032in) dia..
(4) Adjust the NLG free-fall extension system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-002) but do not do a functional test.
Subtask 32-33-11-420-051-A (1) Lock the handle in this position with the SHIM - ALUMINUM OR PLASTIC.
(2) Turn the NORMAL position stop-bolt (33) until it touches the internal toothed sector (34).
(3) Tighten the check nut (32) and lock the bolt (33) with lockwire corrosion resistant steel 0.8mm (0.032in) dia..
(4) Adjust the NLG free-fall extension system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-002) but do not do a functional test.
D. Connect the rod (25)
(1) Make sure that the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (20) has stayed in the cable sector (21).
(2) Connect the rod (25) and install the bolt (22). If necessary, do this procedure:
(a) Remove the lockwire and discard it.
(b) Loosen the nuts (23) and remove the washers (24).
(c) Adjust the rod (25) so that you can install the bolt (22).
(d) Tighten the nuts (23) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in )
and lock with 14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(3) Install the washer (28) and the nut (29).
(4) TORQUE the nut (29) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
and safety the nut (29) with the AIPC 32-33-01-03-010 COTTER PIN (32) or AIPC 32-33-81-03-010 COTTER PIN (32) cotter pin (30).
Subtask 32-33-11-080-050-A (1) Make sure that the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (20) has stayed in the cable sector (21).
(2) Connect the rod (25) and install the bolt (22). If necessary, do this procedure:
(a) Remove the lockwire and discard it.
(b) Loosen the nuts (23) and remove the washers (24).
(c) Adjust the rod (25) so that you can install the bolt (22).
(d) Tighten the nuts (23) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in )
and lock with (3) Install the washer (28) and the nut (29).
(4) TORQUE the nut (29) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
and safety the nut (29) with the AIPC 32-33-01-03-010 COTTER PIN (32) or AIPC 32-33-81-03-010 COTTER PIN (32) cotter pin (30). E. Remove the Rigging Pin
(1) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (26) from the lower bellcrank (27).
(2) Remove the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (20) from the cable quadrant (21).
Subtask 32-33-11-420-052-A (1) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (26) from the lower bellcrank (27).
(2) Remove the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN (20) from the cable quadrant (21).
F. End of Installation
(1) Move the casing (8) at an angle and install the screws (7) then tighten them.
(2) Tighten the screws (9).
(3) Install the panels (1) and (3) and tighten the fasteners (2).
(4) Install the printer (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-35-22-400-001).
(5) Remove the SHIM - ALUMINUM OR PLASTIC from the handle (15).
Subtask 32-33-11-865-053-A (1) Move the casing (8) at an angle and install the screws (7) then tighten them.
(2) Tighten the screws (9).
(3) Install the panels (1) and (3) and tighten the fasteners (2).
(4) Install the printer (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-35-22-400-001).
(5) Remove the SHIM - ALUMINUM OR PLASTIC from the handle (15).
G. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

H. Functional Test
(1) Do the functional test of the free fall extension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-001).

(1) Close the lateral avionics-compartment doors 822 822.

B. Removal of equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
