A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) In the cockpit, on the right-center instrument panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear normal control-lever (6GA) is in the DOWN position.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (2) Make sure that the safety devices are installed:
   (3) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit, on the HYD section of the panel 40VU
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system, access door 197CB.
   (5) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the Nose Landing Gear (NLG) doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the control unit, in zone 123.
   (3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the access door 811.
   (4) Open the access door 811.
   (5) In the avionics compartment, at the rear of the nose gear well, remove the floor panel 127BG (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-13-000-001).

E. Disconnection of the Control Rod
   (1) Disconnect the lower attachment of the control rod (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-41-000-001).
   (2) Put the ground door-opening handle in the CLOSED position.

F. Installation of the Rigging Pins on the NLG-Door Ground-Opening Control-Unit
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE NLG DOWNLOCK SAFETY PIN AND THE TWO DOOR SAFETY PINS ARE INSTALLED.
   (1) Install the 98A32301013000 RIGGING PIN (1) on the NLG-door ground-opening bypass-valve (2533GM).
   (2) Install the 98A32301000000 RIGGING PIN (2) on the NLG door uplock-assembly (2534GM).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-22-17-020-050-A
A. Removal of the NLG-Door Ground-Opening Control-Unit
NOTE: Two persons are necessary for this procedure.
   (1) Remove and discard the cotter pin (14). Remove the nut (15) and the washer (16).
   (2) Remove the bolt (19) and the bush (18) and disconnect the rod (5) from the bellcrank (17).
   (3) Remove and discard the cotter pin (22). Remove the nut (23) and the washer (21).
   (4) Remove the bolt (45) and the bush (44) and disconnect the rod (20) from the bellcrank (43).
   (5) Remove and discard the cotter pin (28). Remove the nut (29) and the washer (27).
   (6) Remove the bolt (24) and the bush (25) and disconnect the rod (31) from the bellcrank (26).
   (7) Remove and discard the cotter pin (33). Remove the nut (34) and the washer (32).
   (8) Remove the bolt (41) and the bush (42) and disconnect the rod (31) from the handle (39).
   (9) Removal of the Ground Door-Opening Handle
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to remove the ground door-opening handle (39), one in the nose gear well, one in the avionics compartment.
     (a) Remove and discard the three cotter pins (35). Remove the three nuts (36) and the three washers (37).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (40).
     (c) Remove the ground door-opening handle (39).
   (10) Remove and discard the locking nut (13).
   (11) Remove the bolt (10) and the washer (9).
   (12) Remove and discard the two locking nuts (7).
   (13) Remove the two bolts (12) and the two half clamps (8).
   (14) Remove and discard the cotter pin (50). Remove the nut (49) and the washer (48).
   (15) Removal of the Bearing Assemblies (30)
     (a) On each side of the torque tube assembly (6):
       1 Remove and discard the three locking nuts (51).
       2 Remove the three bolts (52) and the bearing assembly (30).
   (16) Remove the torque tube assembly (6).
