A. Get Access
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
   (2) Put on and attach the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE below rear avionic compartment-door 824.
   (4) Open rear avionic compartment-door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

A. Manual Operation of the L/G DOWN VMO/MMO SELECTION Switch
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) In the rear avionic compartment, on panel 188VU:
     (a) Unlock the safety cover of the L/G DOWN VMO/MMO SELECTION switch (22FP).
     (b) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the safety cover of the L/G DOWN VMO/MMO SELECTION switch (22FP).
     (c) Set the L/G DOWN VMO/MMO SELECTION switch (22FP) to the L/G DOWN position.

B. Removal of the NLG Main Doors and Attaching Parts
   (1) Remove the two main doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-11-000-001).
   (2) Remove the two aft doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-13-000-001).
   (3) Remove the NLG main door control rods (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-41-000-001).
   (4) Remove the two rotating rods (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-16-000-001).
   (5) Retain all the attaching parts from the doors and the rods.
   (6) Disconnect and retain all the bonding straps.

C. ECAM Messages
NOTE: ECAM messages can come into view during flight without NLG main doors. These messages can also be shown on the Post Flight Report (PFR) and used during maintenance procedures.
   (1) You must ignore the messages that follow (for the applicable missing NLG door) during this maintenance procedure:
     (a) With the landing-gear normal control-lever (6GA) in DOWN position (landing gear extended).
       1 ECAM WHEEL page indications:
  • Door position hinge-bar - DOOR IN TRANSIT.
  • Landing gear downlocked - Green triangles.
       2 ECAM warnings (flight phases 2, 6 and 7):
  • L/G DOORS NOT CLOSED
  • L/G LGCIU 1 FAULT
    or
  • L/G LGCIU 2 FAULT
    or
  • L/G LGCIU 1 + 2 FAULT.
NOTE: The LGCIU warnings, will only occur if LGCIU 1 and /or 2 are set above 70 kts (or if a power interrupt occurs more than 70 kts).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close rear avionic compartment-door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
Subtask 32-22-00-860-063-A
B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
   (3) Put an applicable PLACARD in position in the cockpit (refer to your standard practices and local regulations).
   (4) Make an entry in the logbook.
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
