A. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the doors of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position in zone 123.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Lift the aircraft with jack and lift the nose wheels off the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).

A. Removal of the Rotating Rod

Rotating Rod

(1) Remove the cotter pin (6) and discard it, remove the nut (7) and the washer (8).
(2) Remove the bolt (9) and disconnect the rotating rod from the aft door of the nose landing gear.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Retract the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-001).
(5) Remove the cotter pin (15) and discard it, remove the nut (14) and the washer (13).
(6) Remove the bolt (10) and the bushes (11) and (12).
(7) Remove the rotating rod.

B. Removal of the Universal Joint (1) from the Rod Assy (5)
(1) Disengage the tab of the lockwasher (3) from the nut (2).
(2) Loosen the nut (2).
(3) Remove the universal joint (1) from the rod assy (5) and discard the lockwasher (3).
