Removal of the NLG Aft Door-Assembly

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.

CAUTION: THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. THE OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPECIFIC TRACKING AND CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS OF REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. INCORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THESE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A RISK FOR THE FLIGHT SAFETY.

1. Reason for the Job
This procedure is only applicable when the aft door assy is removed for replacement. For the applicable procedure to remove the aft door assy for access only, Ref. TASK 32-22-13-010-001.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-22-13-860-051-A

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(4) Lift the aircraft with jacks until the nose wheels are off the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003).

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-22-13-020-055-A

A. Removal of the Rotating Rod
(1) Remove the rotating rod (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-16-000-001).

Subtask 32-22-13-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

B. Removal of the NLG Aft Door-Assembly
(1) Remove the nuts (17) and (3) and the bolts (10) and (1).
(2) Remove the bonding braids (11) and (2).
(3) Remove the cotter pin (15) and discard it.
(4) Remove the nut (16), washer (13) and bolt (12).
(5) Keep the door (18) in position to help you remove the second hinge assembly.
(6) Remove the cotter pin (4) and discard it.
(7) Remove the nut (5), washer (8) and bolt (9).
(8) Remove the door (18).
(9) Remove the bushes (6) and (7) from the door (18).
(10) Remove the bush (14) from the aircraft structure.

Subtask 32-22-13-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

B. Removal of the NLG Aft Door-Assembly
(1) Remove the nuts (21) and (2) and the bolts (13) and (3).
(2) Remove the bonding braids (14) and (4).
(3) Remove the nuts (1), bolts (12) and jumpers (10) and (16).
(4) Remove the cotter pin (19) and discard it, remove the nut (20), the bolt (15), the washer (18) and the two shouldered bushes (17).
(5) Keep the door (22) in position to help you remove the second hinge assembly.
(6) Remove the cotter pin (5) and discard it, and remove the nut (6), the bolt (11) and the washer (7).
(7) Remove the door (22).
(8) Remove the bushes (8) and (9) from the door (22).
