Removal of the Main Door Assy

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.

CAUTION: THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. THE OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPECIFIC TRACKING AND CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS OF REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. INCORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THESE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A RISK FOR THE FLIGHT SAFETY.

1. Reason for the Job
This procedure is only applicable when the main door assy is removed for replacement. For the applicable procedure to remove the main door assy for access only, Ref. TASK 32-22-11-010-001.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the doors of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable NLG door.

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-22-11-020-050-A

A. Removal of the Main Door

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.

(1) Removal of the applicable NLG main door control rod (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-41-000-001).
(2) Remove the nuts (2), the bolts (8).
(3) Disconnect the bonding braids (7).
(4) Remove the proximity sensors from the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-000-005)
(5) Cut, remove and discard the cotter pins (3).
(6) Remove the nuts (4), the washers (5), the bolts (6) and the bushes (9)..
(7) Cut, remove and discard the cotter pin (14).
(8) Remove the nut (15), the washer (13) and the bolt (10)..
(9) Remove the door (1).
