Subtask 32-21-24-010-051-A
A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the NLG leg assembly is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-11-000-003).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(3) Make sure that access doors 812, 822 and 824 are open to get access to the hinge points of the NLG (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
(4) If necessary, make sure that the avionics-equipment ventilation-duct is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the NLG leg assembly is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-11-000-003).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(3) Make sure that access doors 812, 822 and 824 are open to get access to the hinge points of the NLG (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
(4) If necessary, make sure that the avionics-equipment ventilation-duct is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-001).
Subtask 32-21-24-110-050-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean all the components and the swivel bearing with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry them with filtered compressed air.
(2) Apply a light coat of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the swivel bearing to make its installation easier.
Subtask 32-21-24-420-050-A (1) Clean all the components and the swivel bearing with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry them with filtered compressed air.
(2) Apply a light coat of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the swivel bearing to make its installation easier.
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
B. Installation of the Swivel Bearing
(1) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) on the new AIPC 32-21-01-01-075 O-RING (3) or AIPC 32-21-81-01-120 O-RING (3) and the new AIPC 32-21-01-01-060 O-RINGS (4) or AIPC 32-21-81-01-100 O-RINGS (4).
(2) Install the O-rings (3) and (4) on the protective cover (5).
(3) Install the swivel bearing (2).
(4) Install the protective cover (5), the bolts (1), the washers (6) and the nuts (8).
(5) TORQUE the nuts (8) to between 1.35 and 1.2 m.daN (119.47 and 106.19 lbf.in )

(7) Make sure that the swivel bearing (2) has no friction points and can move freely in its housing.
(8) Install the NLG leg assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-11-400-003).
Subtask 32-21-24-720-050-A (1) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) on the new AIPC 32-21-01-01-075 O-RING (3) or AIPC 32-21-81-01-120 O-RING (3) and the new AIPC 32-21-01-01-060 O-RINGS (4) or AIPC 32-21-81-01-100 O-RINGS (4).
(2) Install the O-rings (3) and (4) on the protective cover (5).
(3) Install the swivel bearing (2).
(4) Install the protective cover (5), the bolts (1), the washers (6) and the nuts (8).
(5) TORQUE the nuts (8) to between 1.35 and 1.2 m.daN (119.47 and 106.19 lbf.in )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(6) Safety the nuts (8) with the new AIPC 32-21-01-01-010 COTTER PINS (7) or AIPC 32-21-81-01-060 COTTER PINS (7).(7) Make sure that the swivel bearing (2) has no friction points and can move freely in its housing.
(8) Install the NLG leg assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-21-11-400-003).
C. Functional Test
(1) Do the functional test of the NLG normal extension and retraction (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-003).
5. Close-up(1) Do the functional test of the NLG normal extension and retraction (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-003).
Subtask 32-21-24-410-050-A
A. Close Access
(1) If the avionics-equipment ventilation-duct was removed, install it (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-400-001).
(2) Close access doors 812, 822 and 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(1) If the avionics-equipment ventilation-duct was removed, install it (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-400-001).
(2) Close access doors 812, 822 and 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
