Removal of the MLG Torque Links

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
(5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.
Subtask 32-11-27-582-050-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Lift the applicable MLG axle (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-002) or lift the aircraft on jacks (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001).
Subtask 32-11-27-010-050-A (1) Lift the applicable MLG axle (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-002) or lift the aircraft on jacks (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001).
C. Get Access
(1) Remove the applicable MLG brakes (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-27-000-001) and the wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-000-006).
(2) Release the electrical harnesses from the clamps attached to the upper and lower torque links (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-43-000-001).
(3) If necessary, release the 2M electrical harness from the MLG axle for access (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-43-000-003).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the applicable MLG brakes (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-27-000-001) and the wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-000-006).
(2) Release the electrical harnesses from the clamps attached to the upper and lower torque links (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-43-000-001).
(3) If necessary, release the 2M electrical harness from the MLG axle for access (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-43-000-003).
NOTE: To correctly release the 2M electrical harness, the cable clamp on the support bracket lower surface must be removed.
(4) Release the hydraulic dressings from the clamps attached to the upper and lower torque links (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-12-000-001). Subtask 32-11-27-020-053-A
A. Removal of the MLG Torque Links
(1) Remove the torque link damper (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-29-000-001).
(2) Remove the applicable proximity sensor 23GA(22GA) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-000-001).
(3) Remove the top torque link (20) as follows:
(a) Release the tab-washers (4) and remove the bolts (3). Remove and discard the tab-washers (4).
(b) Remove the wedge (5).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (7).
(d) Remove the nut (8), the washers (6) and the bolt (2).
(e) Hold the top torque link (20). Remove the pin assembly (21), the spacers (22) and then the top torque link (20) and the bracket (1).
(4) Remove the bottom torque link (18) as follows:
(a) Release the tab-washers (10) and remove the bolts (9). Remove and discard the tab-washers (10).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (14).
(d) Remove the nut (15), the washer (16) and the bolt (12).
(e) Hold and prevent damage to the bracket (13) and the electrical harness that is attached to its lower surface.
(f) Hold the bottom torque link (18) and remove the pin assembly (19), the spacers (17) and then the bottom torque link (18).
(1) Remove the torque link damper (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-29-000-001).
(2) Remove the applicable proximity sensor 23GA(22GA) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-000-001).
(3) Remove the top torque link (20) as follows:
(a) Release the tab-washers (4) and remove the bolts (3). Remove and discard the tab-washers (4).
(b) Remove the wedge (5).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (7).
(d) Remove the nut (8), the washers (6) and the bolt (2).
(e) Hold the top torque link (20). Remove the pin assembly (21), the spacers (22) and then the top torque link (20) and the bracket (1).
(4) Remove the bottom torque link (18) as follows:
(a) Release the tab-washers (10) and remove the bolts (9). Remove and discard the tab-washers (10).
WARNING:
YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE WEDGE. IT CAN RELEASE FROM LOAD WITH A FORCE THAT CAN CAUSE INJURY.
(b) Remove the wedge (11). (c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (14).
(d) Remove the nut (15), the washer (16) and the bolt (12).
(e) Hold and prevent damage to the bracket (13) and the electrical harness that is attached to its lower surface.
(f) Hold the bottom torque link (18) and remove the pin assembly (19), the spacers (17) and then the bottom torque link (18).
MLG Torque Link Assembly
