3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

B. Lift the Axle
   (1) Lift the applicable MLG axle (Ref. AMM TASK 07-12-00-582-002).

C. Get Access
   (1) Remove the applicable MLG wheels (Ref. AMM TASK 32-41-11-000-006).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-11-29-020-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Torque Link Damper
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove and discard the cable tie (4). Remove the cover (5).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
   (2) Remove and discard the cotter pin (20).
   (3) Remove the nut (21), the washer(s) (22) and the bolt (19).
   (4) Hold the torque link pin (3) with the 460007242 ADAPTOR, TORQUE REACTION and remove the nut (18) and the spacer (17).
   (5) Hold the bottom torque-link assembly and remove:
  • The torque link pin (3), the sleeve (16), the spacer (15) and the sleeve (7).
   (6) Carefully lower the bottom torque-link assembly.
   (7) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (9), (10) and (13).
   (8) Remove the bolts (9) and the washers (8).
   (9) Remove the bolts (10) and the washers (11).
   (10) Remove the bolts (13), the washers (14) and the bracket (12).
   (11) Carefully remove the torque link damper (2).
   (12) Remove the spacer (1) and the shaped spacer (6).

A. Removal of the Torque Link Damper
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove and discard the cable tie (5).
   (2) Remove the cover (4).
   (3) Remove and discard the cotter pin (19).
   (4) Remove the nut (20), the washers (21) and the bolt (22).
   (5) Hold the pin (3) with the 460007242 ADAPTOR, TORQUE REACTION and remove the nut (18).
   (6) Hold the bottom torque-link assembly and remove:
  • The spacer (17), the pin (3), the spacer (15) and the sleeve (16).
   (7) Carefully lower the bottom torque-link assembly.
   (8) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (9) and (10).
   (9) Remove the bolts (9) and the washers (8).
   (10) Remove the bolts (10) and the washers (11).
   (11) Carefully remove the torque link damper (2).
   (12) Remove the spacer (1).
   (13) Remove the bolts (13), the washers (14) and the bracket (12).
   (14) Remove the spacer (6) and the sleeve (7).

A. Removal of the Torque Link Damper
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove and discard the cable tie (5).
   (2) Remove the cover (4).
   (3) Remove and discard the cotter pin (19) and the nut (20).
   (4) Remove the washers (21) and the bolt (22).
   (5) Hold the pin (3) with the 460007242 ADAPTOR, TORQUE REACTION and remove the nut (18).
   (6) Hold the bottom torque-link assembly and remove:
  • The spacer (17), the pin (3), the spacer (15) and the sleeve (16).
   (7) Carefully lower the bottom torque-link assembly.
   (8) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (9) and (10).
   (9) Remove the bolts (9) and the washers (8).
   (10) Remove the bolts (10) and the washers (11).
   (11) Carefully remove the torque link damper (2).
   (12) Remove the spacer (1).
   (13) Remove the bolts (13), the washers (14) and the bracket (12).
   (14) Remove the spacer (6) and the sleeve (7).
