Subtask 32-31-73-941-050-A
A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(2) Install the ground safety locks on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-31-73-010-050-A (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(2) Install the ground safety locks on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable zone 734 or 744.
(2) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the GROUND LOCK SLEEVE is on the applicable MLG door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
Subtask 32-31-73-869-052-A (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable zone 734 or 744.
(2) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the GROUND LOCK SLEEVE is on the applicable MLG door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
C. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
Subtask 32-31-73-865-050-A (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

A. Removal of the Proximity Sensor
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the capscrews (1).
(e) Identify the positions of the bracket (3), the proximity sensor (4) and the shim (17) before you remove them.
(f) Remove the capscrews (1) and the washers (2). Remove the bracket (3) together with the proximity sensor (4) and the shim (17).
(g) Remove the nuts (5), the capscrews (8) and the washers (7).
(h) Remove the bracket (3) from the proximity sensor (4).
(2) Remove MLG door-uplock proximity-sensors 27GA (26GA) and 29GA (28GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the capscrews (12).
(e) Identify the positions of the bracket (10), the proximity sensor (9) and the shim (18) before you remove them.
(f) Remove the capscrews (12) and the washers (11). Remove the bracket (10) together with the proximity sensor (9) and the shim (18).
(g) Remove the nuts (16), the capscrews (13) and the washers (14).
(h) Remove the bracket (10) from the proximity sensor (9).
(3) Remove MLG downlock proximity-sensors 15GA (14GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the capscrews (36).
(e) Identify the positions of the proximity sensor (37), the target (31) and the spacer (32) if installed, before you remove them.
(f) Remove the capscrews (36) and the proximity sensor (37) from the lockstay.
(g) If it is necessary to remove the target (31), remove:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Identify the positions of the proximity sensor (55), the target (51) and the spacer (52) if installed, before you remove them.
(e) Remove the nuts (57), the washers (56), the capscrews (59) and the proximity sensor (55).
(f) If it is necessary to remove the target (51), remove:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Identify the positions of these items, before you remove them:

Subtask 32-31-73-020-068-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove MLG uplock proximity-sensors 9GA (8GA) and 11GA (10GA) as follows:(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The cap screws (1) and (8)
- The washers (2) and (7)
- The nuts (5).
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the capscrews (1).
(e) Identify the positions of the bracket (3), the proximity sensor (4) and the shim (17) before you remove them.
(f) Remove the capscrews (1) and the washers (2). Remove the bracket (3) together with the proximity sensor (4) and the shim (17).
(g) Remove the nuts (5), the capscrews (8) and the washers (7).
(h) Remove the bracket (3) from the proximity sensor (4).
(2) Remove MLG door-uplock proximity-sensors 27GA (26GA) and 29GA (28GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The capscrews (12) and (13)
- The nuts (16)
- The washers (11) and (14).
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the capscrews (12).
(e) Identify the positions of the bracket (10), the proximity sensor (9) and the shim (18) before you remove them.
(f) Remove the capscrews (12) and the washers (11). Remove the bracket (10) together with the proximity sensor (9) and the shim (18).
(g) Remove the nuts (16), the capscrews (13) and the washers (14).
(h) Remove the bracket (10) from the proximity sensor (9).
(3) Remove MLG downlock proximity-sensors 15GA (14GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The capscrews (36) and (30)
- The nuts (34).
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the capscrews (36).
(e) Identify the positions of the proximity sensor (37), the target (31) and the spacer (32) if installed, before you remove them.
(f) Remove the capscrews (36) and the proximity sensor (37) from the lockstay.
(g) If it is necessary to remove the target (31), remove:
- The nuts (34)
- The washers (35)
- The capscrews (30)
- The target (31)
- The spacer (32), if installed.
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The capscrews (50) and (59)
- The nuts (54) and (57).
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Identify the positions of the proximity sensor (55), the target (51) and the spacer (52) if installed, before you remove them.
(e) Remove the nuts (57), the washers (56), the capscrews (59) and the proximity sensor (55).
(f) If it is necessary to remove the target (51), remove:
- The nuts (54)
- The washers (53)
- The capscrews (50)

- The spacer (52), if installed.
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:

(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Identify the positions of the proximity sensor (114), the target (108) and the spacer (109) if installed, before you remove them.
(e) Remove the nuts (103), the washers (104), the screws (113) and the proximity sensor (114).
(f) If it is necessary to remove the target (108), remove:
- The nuts (111)
- The washers (112)
- The screws (107)
- The target (108)
- The spacer (109), if installed.
A. Removal of the Proximity Sensors
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
1 Disconnect the electrical connector (7) from the proximity sensor (4).
(c) For MLG uplock proximity-sensor 11GA (10GA):
1 Disconnect the electrical connector (8) from the proximity sensor (4).
(d) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(e) Remove and discard the lockwire from the cap screws (1).
(f) Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
(h) Remove the bracket (3) together with the applicable proximity sensor (4) and the shim (5).
(i) Remove the nuts (6), the washers (9) and the cap screws (10).
(j) Remove the bracket (3) from the applicable proximity sensor (4).
(2) Remove MLG door-uplock proximity-sensors 27GA (26GA) and 29GA (28GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
1 Remove the nuts (22), the washers (21) and the cap screws (19).
2 Remove the clamp blocks (18) from the switch bracket (17).
3 Disconnect the electrical connector (20) from the proximity sensor (11).
4 Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Disconnect the electrical connector (32) as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (29), the washers (30) and the cap screws (33).
2 Remove the clamp blocks (31) from the switch bracket (34).
3 Disconnect the electrical connector (32) from the proximity sensor (27).
4 Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) To disconnect the switch bracket (17) from the switch bracket (34), remove the items that follow:
1 Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
3 Remove the switch bracket (17) together with the proximity sensor (11) and the shim (12). Remove the shim (12) from the switch bracket (17).
4 Remove the nuts (23), the cap screws (15) and the washers (16).
5 Remove the proximity sensor (11) from the switch bracket (17).
(f) Remove the proximity sensor (27) as follows:
1 Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
3 Remove the switch bracket (34) together with the proximity sensor (27) and the shim (26). Remove the shim (26) from the switch bracket (34).
4 Remove the nuts (28), the cap screws (36) and the washers (35).
5 Remove the proximity sensor (27) from the switch bracket (34).
(3) Remove MLG downlock proximity-sensor 15GA (14GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:

(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the cap screws (36).
(e) Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:

(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:

(1) Remove MLG uplock proximity-sensors 9GA (8GA) and 11GA (10GA) as follows:(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The cap screws (1) and (10)
- The washers (2) and (9)
- The nuts (6).
1 Disconnect the electrical connector (7) from the proximity sensor (4).
(c) For MLG uplock proximity-sensor 11GA (10GA):
1 Disconnect the electrical connector (8) from the proximity sensor (4).
(d) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(e) Remove and discard the lockwire from the cap screws (1).
(f) Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
- The bracket (3)
- The applicable proximity sensor (4)
- The shim (5).
(h) Remove the bracket (3) together with the applicable proximity sensor (4) and the shim (5).
(i) Remove the nuts (6), the washers (9) and the cap screws (10).
(j) Remove the bracket (3) from the applicable proximity sensor (4).
(2) Remove MLG door-uplock proximity-sensors 27GA (26GA) and 29GA (28GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The cap screws (14), (15), (24), (36) and (40)
- The washers (13), (16), (25), (35) and (38)
- The nuts (23), (28) and (37).
1 Remove the nuts (22), the washers (21) and the cap screws (19).
2 Remove the clamp blocks (18) from the switch bracket (17).
3 Disconnect the electrical connector (20) from the proximity sensor (11).
4 Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Disconnect the electrical connector (32) as follows:
1 Remove the nuts (29), the washers (30) and the cap screws (33).
2 Remove the clamp blocks (31) from the switch bracket (34).
3 Disconnect the electrical connector (32) from the proximity sensor (27).
4 Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) To disconnect the switch bracket (17) from the switch bracket (34), remove the items that follow:
- The nut (37)
- The washer (38)
- The capscrew (40)
- The shim (39), if installed.
1 Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
- The switch bracket (17)
- The proximity sensor (11)
- The shim (12).
3 Remove the switch bracket (17) together with the proximity sensor (11) and the shim (12). Remove the shim (12) from the switch bracket (17).
4 Remove the nuts (23), the cap screws (15) and the washers (16).
5 Remove the proximity sensor (11) from the switch bracket (17).
(f) Remove the proximity sensor (27) as follows:
1 Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
- The switch bracket (34)
- The proximity sensor (27)
- The shim (26).
3 Remove the switch bracket (34) together with the proximity sensor (27) and the shim (26). Remove the shim (26) from the switch bracket (34).
4 Remove the nuts (28), the cap screws (36) and the washers (35).
5 Remove the proximity sensor (27) from the switch bracket (34).
(3) Remove MLG downlock proximity-sensor 15GA (14GA) as follows:
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The cap screws (36) and (30)
- The nuts (34).
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Remove and discard the lockwire from the cap screws (36).
(e) Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
- The proximity sensor (37)
- The target (31)
- The spacer (32), if installed.
(g) If it is necessary to remove the target (31), remove the items that follow:
- The nuts (34)
- The washers (35)
- The cap screws (30)
- The target (31)
- The spacer (32), if installed.
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The cap screws (50) and (59)
- The nuts (54) and (57).
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.

- The spacer (94), if installed.
(a) Use the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The cap screws (107) and (113)
- The nuts (103) and (111).
(c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(d) Before you remove the items that follow, identify their position:
- The proximity sensor (114)
- The target (108)
- The spacers (109), if installed.
(f) If it is necessary to remove the target (108), remove the items that follow:
- The nuts (111)
- The washers (112)
- The screws (107)
- The targets (108)
- The spacers (109), if installed.
