A. Access to the ECAM OEB DATABASE UPDATE Menu
NOTE: The procedure below is applicable to each MCDU. The actions and results of this procedure occur on the MCDU used.
NOTE: If the response time of the FWCs is more than 1 second a IN PROGRESS message comes into view.
   (1) Access to the ECAM OEB DATABASE UPDATE menu and update CODE
ACTION
RESULT

On the MCDU:
1.on one of the MCDUs, turn the OFF/BRT knob.
  • the MCDU is on.
2.on the MCDU, push the MCDU MENU mode key
  • the MCDU MENU page comes into view.
3.on the MCDU, push the line key to the CFDS indication.
  • the CFDS MENU page comes into view.
4.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST indication.
  • the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST menu page comes into view.
5.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the INST indication.
  • the instruments menu page comes into view.
6.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the ECAM indication.
  • the first ECAM page comes into view.
NOTE: For FWC1 database updating enter in the ECAM 1 menu. For FWC2 database updating enter in the ECAM 2 menu.
7.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the OEB DATABASE indication.
  • the ECAM-1 or 2/OEB DATABASE page comes into view.
NOTE: If the data base of the FWC1 or FWC2 is not valid, the VERSION is replaced by XXX and the check sum is replaced by XXXXX adjacent to the FWC1 or FWC2 indication.
NOTE: If the opposite FWC does not respond, the NO RESPONSE message comes into view adjacent to the FWC1 or 2 indication.
8.on the MCDU, with the MCDU keyboard, enter the code TWIN.
NOTE: The deletion of the FWC data base is possible only if the UPDATE CODE is entered.
  • the code TWIN comes into view in the scratchpad line.
9.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the UPDATE CODE indication.
  • if the code is valid, the ECAM-1 or 2/OEB DATABASE UPDATE page comes into view.
NOTE: If the code not valid, the INVALID DATA message comes into view on the ECAM-1 or 2/OEB DATABASE page.

B. Deletion of the OEB REMINDER Data from the FWC1 data by data.
NOTE: You can delete all the OEB REMINDER Data in one operation (Ref. Para. 4. C).
NOTE: You can delete the OEB REMINDER Data only if the UPDATE CODE is entered (Ref. Para. 4. A. 7.)

On the MCDU:
1.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the DELETE indication.
  • the ECAM-1 or 2/OEB DATABASE UPDATE/DELETE page with a list of OEB data comes into view.
2.on the MCDU, with the NEXT PAGE key, find the OEB data to delete and push the line key adjacent to this OEB data.
  • a new page with only the data to delete comes into view.
3.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the DELETE CONFIRM indication.
  • on the previous ECAM-1 or 2/OEB DATABASE UPDATE/DELETE page, the data goes out of view from the list.
NOTE: If you push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication, the deletion is not taken into account and the previous page with the total list of OEB data comes into view.
NOTE: It is imperative to enter a new VERSION reference, only when the last data has been deleted from the list.
4.on the MCDU, once all modification have been inserted, with the MCDU keyboard, enter a new VERSION reference.
  • the new VERSION reference comes into view in the scratchpad line.
NOTE: The VERSION reference must be different from the previous one. It is recommended to put the VERSION back to 000, if the FWC1 database is now empty.
5.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the VERSION indication.
  • the VERSION reference comes into view.
6.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the CONFIRM indication.
NOTE: The line key adjacent to the CONFIRM indication is inactive if there is no deletion or if the VERSION reference is not entered.
  • if the VERSION reference is authorized the UPDATE COMPLETED message comes into view.
NOTE: The INVALID DATA message comes into view if the deletion is faulty. (In this case it is necessary to enter again the step 6).
NOTE: If you push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication before you do an action on the line adjacent to the CONFIRM indication.
The UPDATE WILL BE LOST message comes into view. If a new action is done on the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication, all the modifications are lost.

NOTE: You can delete the OEB REMINDER Data only if the UPDATE CODE is entered (Ref . Para. 4. A. 7.)

  • the OEB DATABASE UPDATE page comes into view without OEB data but with the EMPTY DATABASE message in white.
NOTE: If you push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication, the deletion is not taken into account and the previous page comes into view.

3.on the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the PRINT indication.
the first ECAM-1 or 2/OEB DATABASE/FWC1 or 2 LIST XXX page is printed.
NOTE: If there is more than one page, it is necessary on the MCDU:
  • to push the NEXT PAGE function key to get access to all the pages
  • to push the line key adjacent to the PRINT indication on each page to have the total list.
   (2) Do a check of the printed OEB list with the ECAM warnings and their codes given in the FCOM Preliminary Pages (List of Effective Operations Engineering Bulletin) or with the ECAM alert title (if displayed) and the Quick Reference Handbook (QRH).
     (a) Make sure that the printed OEB data agrees with the data in the FCOM "OEB Operations Engineering Bulletins" section.
If the data does not agree, do the applicable procedure:
- loading (Ref. AMM TASK 31-51-00-610-001), or
- deletion (Ref: Para. 4. B. of this procedure), or.
- crossloading (Ref. AMM TASK 31-51-00-610-003).
     (b) When the check list is correct, keep the OEB list in the QRH, in the cockpit.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS MENU page comes into view.
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
   (4) Put the system back to the serviceable condition.
   (5) Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
