Deactivation of the Cockpit Voice and Data Recorder (CVDR)
1. Reason for the Job
NOTE: This procedure is for the deactivation of the Cockpit Voice and Data Recorder (CVDR).
NOTE: Make sure that this procedure is used in agreement with the local authorities.
NOTE: This deactivation task is not related to an AFM-CDL/MMEL item.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) Energize the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-008).

(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)

(3) Energize the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-008).

A. Deactivation of the CVDR
(1) Open, safety and tag circuit breakers 40TU and 42TU of the CVDR1 and CVDR2.
5. Close-up(1) Open, safety and tag circuit breakers 40TU and 42TU of the CVDR1 and CVDR2.
NOTE: On the ECAM display the following messages come into view "RECORDER CVR FAULT" and "RECORDER DFDR FAULT".

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-008).
(2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(3) Make an entry in the log book.
(4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(1) De-energize the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-008).
(2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(3) Make an entry in the log book.
(4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
