A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) Energize the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-008).

4. Procedure

A. Test of the QAR

NOTE: After the recorder is energized the unit does a self test.

NOTE: The replacement of data medium is not necessary if there is enough unrecorded capacity.

ACTION	RESULT
1.On QAR 3TU:	On the QAR 3TU front-panel:
Make sure that no optical disk is installed in the QAR.	The red STATUS indicator is on. The green ON indicator is on. The red DISK LOW indicator is on.
2.On QAR 3TU:	On the QAR 3TU front-panel:
Open the recorder front access-door. Put a new formatted optical disk into the recorder. Make sure that the arrow is on the left side. Close and lock the recorder front access-door.	The red indicator STATUS goes off. The green indicator ON stays on. The red indicator DISK LOW is off.
3.On control panel 21VU:	On control panel 21VU:
Push the GND CTL button.	The blue ON legend comes on.
4.On MCDU 1 or 2:	On the MCDU screen:
Push the line key adjacent to CFDS.	The CFDS main menu shows.
Push the line key adjacent to <SYSTEM REPORT/TEST.	The SYSTEM REPORT/TEST page shows.
Push the line key adjacent to INST>.	The SYSTEM REPORT/TEST INST page shows.
Push the line key adjacent to <FDIU.	The DFDRS page shows.
Push the line key adjacent to <GND SCANNING.	Message NO FAULT DETECTED shows.
5.On control panel 21VU:	On control panel 21VU:
Push the GND CTL button.	The blue ON legend goes off. NOTE: The recorder is now in a serviceable condition.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-008).
(2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
