A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the toilet system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-16-38-613-001) is drained.
   (3) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the waste-water service-panel and the access door 172AR is open.
   (4) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) is open.
   (5) Make sure that the CARGO COMP LT switch 8LU is set to ON.
   (6) Make sure that the partition 162DW is removed to get access to the nipple(s) and the terminal block 7585VT (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-003).

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-72-51-140-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for installation of Waste Water Heated Drain Nipple
   (1) Remove the unwanted sealant with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (2) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

Subtask 30-72-51-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Waste Water Heated Drain Nipple
   (1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (6) and (8).
   (2) Put the drain nipple (5) and the insulation plate (4) in position.
   (3) Install the drain nipple (5) with the screws (6), the washers (3) and the nuts (2).
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Install the flush water pipe (1) to the drain nipple (5).
   (6) Install the cap assembly (7) with the screws (8), the spacers (9), the washers (10), the nuts (11) on the drain nipple (5).
   (7) Connect the electrical contacts with the ELEC CONTACTS INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL M15570-20 to terminal block 7585VT (12).
   (8) Attach the electrical harness with TIE WRAP(S).

C. Application of Sealant for Waste Water Heated Drain Nipple
   (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) around the drain nipple (5).
   (2) Make the sealant around the drain nipple (5) smooth.
   (3) Let the sealant cure.
   (4) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the drain nipple (5).

D. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits

F. Do this test for Waste Water Heated Drain Nipple
NOTE: The control unit 35DU controls and monitors heaters of the water servicing ice-protection and of the waste-water ice-protection. The result of HTRs of the waste water ice-protection system are indicated in parentheses, because the principal interest of this test is the waste water servicing ice-protection.
ACTION

1.On the control unit 35DU:
  • Push and hold the TEST pushbutton switch.
On the control unit 35DU:
  • The green LED III/IV (I/II) comes on.
  • Release the TEST pushbutton switch.
  • The green LED III/IV (I/II) goes off.

G. Do this test:

1.On the Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH:
On the FAP 120RH:
  • Push the pushbutton switch HEAT DRAIN PNL.
  • The integral light in the pushbutton switch comes on.
2.At the Forward (Aft) toilet service-panel:
At the Forward (Aft) toilet service-panel:
  • Apply SPRAY - COOLING on the housing of the thermostat 8DV (10DV).
  • After approx. 1 minute you feel that the waste outlet becomes warm.
3.On the FAP 120RH:
On the FAP 120RH:
  • Push the pushbutton switch HEAT DRAIN PNL.
  • The integral light in the pushbutton switch goes off.

At the Forward (Aft) toilet service-panel:
  • The heating of the waste outlet stops.
5. Close-up
Subtask 30-72-51-410-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) For Waste Water Heated Drain Nipple (21DV).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Install the partition 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-003).
   (4) Set the CARGO COMP LT switch 8LU to OFF.
   (5) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (6) Close the waste water service-panel 172AR.
   (7) Remove the access platform.

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
