A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the door 825.
   (3) Make sure that forward cargo-compartment door 825 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
   (4) Make sure that cargo-compartment light switch 6LU is set to ON.
   (5) Make sure that sidewall panels and floor panels
     (a) FOR [41DU] (HEATER-TAPE,), [42DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)
131GW 131HW 131GF 131FF 131EF are removed.

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-71-53-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Heater Element
   (1) Preparation for installation:
     (a) Clean the waste water line (9) with Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
   (3) Put the heater elements (4) and (5) in position on the waste water line (9).
NOTE: The two heater elements are located on the two sides of the waste water line.
   (4) Attach the heater elements (4) and (5) to the waste water line with the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) (6).
NOTE: Make sure that the heater elements (4) and (5) are correctly installed on the waste water line (9).
   (5) Install the sensor (40DU) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-17-400-001).
   (6) Connect the three wires of the heater elements (4) and (5) to the terminal strip.
NOTE: Connect the electrical wires as identified during the removal procedure.
   (7) Insulate all the pipes with the insulation sleeve (1).
NOTE: Make sure that the electrical connections do not touch the insulation sleeve (1).
   (8) Put Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) (2) on the longitudinal cut of the insulation sleeve (1).
   (9) Install the insulation muffs (8), the adhesive tape and safety it with the velcro tape (3).
   (10) Install the spacers (11) and the clamps (10).
   (11) Attach the identification and warning labels with the cable ties.
NOTE: Do not damage the insulation sleeve (1) with the cable ties.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Do an operational test of the waste water ice-protection (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-00-710-002).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install sidewall panels and floor panels
     (a) FOR [41DU] (HEATER-TAPE,), [42DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)
131GW 131HW 131GF 131FF 131EF.
   (3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 6LU is set to OFF.
   (4) Close forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
