A. Detailed Inspection of the Pylon Anti-Ice Duct
(1) Do a hole or a crack detection through the inspection of the pylon anti-ice duct:
(a) Remove the coupling (3).
(b) Put the BORESCOPE DIA 6 MM (0.2 IN.) MAX - SIDE VIEW FLEXIBLE or an equivalent in the pylon anti-ice duct.
(c) Examine the duct along its full length:
If the parts must be replaced, remove and install the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-20-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-20-400-040).
2 If there is no hole or a crack:
a Install the coupling (3).
b TORQUE the coupling nut (3) to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
c Do the rigging of the anti-ice ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do a hole or a crack detection through the inspection of the pylon anti-ice duct:
(a) Remove the coupling (3).
(b) Put the BORESCOPE DIA 6 MM (0.2 IN.) MAX - SIDE VIEW FLEXIBLE or an equivalent in the pylon anti-ice duct.
(c) Examine the duct along its full length:
NOTE: You can refer to the Duct and Fuel Pipe Repair Manual (DFPRM) to find the allowable damage limits and the repair solutions for your duct part number.
NOTE: The allowable damage limits and the repair solutions for ducts No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are not given in the DFPRM.
1 If there is a hole or a crack, replace the pylon anti-ice duct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-000-042) and (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-400-042).
