Removal of the Pylon Anti-ice Duct

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
Subtask 30-21-49-010-142-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). F. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

4. ProcedureNOTE: Lower the engine between 0.3 m (1 ft.) and 0.4 m (1.3 ft.).

A. Removal of the Starter Elbow-Duct
(1) Remove the clamps (9) and (12) to disengage the duct (10).
(a) Remove the four bolts (14) and the four washers (15) from the skin/junction panel (13).
(b) Remove the four bolts (16) from the skin/junction panel (13).
(2) Remove the duct.
(a) Remove the bolt (17), the four bolts (14) and the four washers (15) from the pylon support and sliding bracket (8).
(b) Remove the duct (10).
(c) Remove and discard the seal (11).
(d) Remove the sliding bracket (8) from the duct (10).
(3) Remove the skin/junction panel (13).
Subtask 30-21-49-020-066-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the clamps (9) and (12) to disengage the duct (10).
(a) Remove the four bolts (14) and the four washers (15) from the skin/junction panel (13).
(b) Remove the four bolts (16) from the skin/junction panel (13).
(2) Remove the duct.
(a) Remove the bolt (17), the four bolts (14) and the four washers (15) from the pylon support and sliding bracket (8).
(b) Remove the duct (10).
(c) Remove and discard the seal (11).
(d) Remove the sliding bracket (8) from the duct (10).
(3) Remove the skin/junction panel (13).
B. Removal of the Pylon Anti-Ice Duct
(1) Remove the four screws (5) and the stop plate (4) from the support.
(a) Remove the pylon anti-ice duct (1).
