WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

F. Get Access
   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
451AL and 452AR
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
461AL and 462AR.
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: REMOVE AND INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND ADJACENT COMPONENTS.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

A. Removal of the NAI-Duct Sense-Line Bolts
   (1) Remove the bolts (1) and the seals (2) from the NAI duct.
   (2) Discard the seals (2).

B. Do an inspection of the NAI-duct sense-line tap for blockage with a 14QEB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - or an equivalent.

C. If you find blockage, use the same 14QEB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.6 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - or an equivalent to remove the unwanted debris or the anti-seize compound in the NAI-duct sense-line tap.

D. Installation of the NAI-Duct Sense-Line Bolts
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO THE END FACE OF THE BOLT. REMOVE UNWANTED ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND. MAKE SURE THAT THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND DOES NOT GO INTO THE SENSE LINES OR BLOCK THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE ANTI-ICE SYSTEM CAN OCCUR.
   (1) If necessary, carefully apply the Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0003) to the threads of the bolts (1) and the fitting threads of the NAI duct. Do not get the lubricant into the sense lines.
   (2) Put the new AIPC 30-21-86-01-615 SEAL (2) into the NAI duct fitting. Make sure that the seals (2) are against the bottom of the NAI duct fittings.
   (3) Install the bolts (1) on the NAI duct.
   (4) TORQUE the bolts (1) to between 77 and 70 lbf.in (0.870 and 0.791 m.daN )
T.
   (5) Clean the surfaces of the bolts (1) and the adjacent surfaces with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.
PU1-0001) and Acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) until you remove all the contamination.
   (6) Clean the surfaces of the bolts (1) and the adjacent surfaces again with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and Acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) . Remove the solvent with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the solvent dries.
   (7) Clean the surfaces of the bolts (1) and the adjacent surfaces again with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) .
   (8) Apply a torque stripe on the bolts (1) and the adjacent surface with the PU3-0025Sealant, Tamper Proof.

   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
