WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser system is deactivated for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 30-21-12-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Nacelle Anti-Ice Sense-Tubes
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE A WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.
   (1) Install the nacelle anti-ice sense-tubes.
     (a) If necessary, install the unions (10).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: APPLY THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE SENSE TUBE FITTING AND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE MATING FITTING. MAKE SURE THAT THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND DOES NOT GO INTO THE SENSE LINES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU CAN CAUSE INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE ECS.
       1 Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the three unions (10).
       2 Install the three unions (10) on the ECS duct with the three washers (9) and three nuts (8).
NOTE: Make sure that the unions (10) and nuts (8) align correctly.
       3 Hold the unions (10) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       4 TORQUE the nuts (8) to between 150 and 130 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.47 m.daN ) T.
     (b) Install the forward sense tubes (1), (2) and (3).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: APPLY THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE SENSE TUBE FITTING AND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE MATING FITTING. MAKE SURE THAT THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND DOES NOT GO INTO THE SENSE LINES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU CAN CAUSE INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE ECS.
       1 Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.
PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of forward valve 1 sense tube (1), forward valve 2 sense tube (2) and forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) nuts and the mating fittings.
       2 Apply a layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the pressure transducer and solenoid manifold fittings.
       3 Connect the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) to the fitting on the pressure transducer and the union (10) on the ECS duct.
NOTE: Do not torque the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) nuts at this time.
       4 Connect the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) to the fitting on the solenoid manifold and the union (10) on the ECS duct.
NOTE: Do not torque the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) nuts at this time.
       5 Connect the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) to the fitting on the solenoid manifold and the union (10) on the ECS duct.
NOTE: Do not torque the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) nuts at this time.
       6 Put the three clamps (6) on the forward valve 1 sense tube (1), the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) and the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
       7 Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez Pure Nickel Special (Material No.PU5-0003) to the threads of the nut (7).
       8 Attach the three clamps (6), the forward valve 1 sense tube (1), the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) and the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) to the bracket. Use the bolt (4), the two washers (5) and the nut (7).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (7) at this time.
       9 Adjust the forward valve 1 sense tube (1), the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) and the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) to keep preload to a minimum.
       10 Hold the fitting on the pressure transducer with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       11 TORQUE the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN ) T.
       12 Hold the union (10) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       13 TORQUE the forward XDCR1 sense tube (3) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       14 Hold the fitting on the solenoid manifold with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       15 TORQUE the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       16 Hold the union (10) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       17 TORQUE the forward valve 2 sense tube (2) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       18 Hold the fitting on the solenoid manifold with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       19 TORQUE the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) fitting to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
T.
       20 Hold the union (10) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       21 TORQUE the forward valve 1 sense tube (1) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       22 TORQUE the nut (7) to between 27 and 23 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.26 m.daN )
T.
     (c) Install the middle sense tubes (11), (12) and (13).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: APPLY THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE SENSE TUBE FITTING AND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE MATING FITTING. MAKE SURE THAT THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND DOES NOT GO INTO THE SENSE LINES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU CAN CAUSE INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE ECS.
       1 Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.
PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of middle valve 1 sense tube (11), middle valve 2 sense tube (12) and middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) fittings.
       2 Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the fittings of the nacelle anti-ice duct.
       3 Connect the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) to the union (10) on the ECS duct and the nacelle anti-ice duct.
NOTE: Do not torque the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) nuts at this time.
       4 Connect the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) to the union (10) on the ECS duct and the nacelle anti-ice duct.
NOTE: Do not torque the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) nuts at this time.
       5 Connect the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) to the union (10) on the ECS duct and the nacelle anti-ice duct.
NOTE: Do not torque the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) nuts at this time.
       6 Put the two clamps (16) on the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) and the middle valve 2 sense tube (12).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
       7 Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez Pure Nickel Special (Material No.PU5-0003) to the threads of the bolt (14).
       8 Attach the two clamps (16), middle valve 1 sense tube (11) and the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) to the nacelle anti-ice duct. Use the bolt (14) and washer (15).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (14) at this time.
       9 Put the clamp (16) on the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
       10 Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez Pure Nickel Special (Material No.PU5-0003) to the threads of the nut (18).
       11 Attach the clamp (16) and the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) to the anti-ice duct. Use the bolt (20), the two washers (19) and the nut (18).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (18) at this time.
       12 Adjust the middle valve 1 sense tube (11), middle valve 2 sense tube (12) and the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) to keep preload to a minimum.
       13 Hold the union (10) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       14 TORQUE the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN ) T.
       15 TORQUE the middle XDCR1 sense tube (13) fitting to the nacelle anti-ice duct to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       16 Hold the union (10) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       17 TORQUE the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       18 TORQUE the middle valve 2 sense tube (12) fitting to the nacelle anti-ice duct to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       19 Hold the union (10) with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       20 TORQUE the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) fitting to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       21 TORQUE the middle valve 1 sense tube (11) fitting to the nacelle anti-ice duct to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       22 TORQUE the nut (18) to between 27 and 23 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.26 m.daN )
T.
       23 TORQUE the bolt (14) to between 27 and 24.3 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )
T.
     (d) Install the aft sense tubes (21) and (22).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: APPLY THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE SENSE TUBE FITTING AND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE MATING FITTING. MAKE SURE THAT THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND DOES NOT GO INTO THE SENSE LINES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU CAN CAUSE INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE ECS.
       1 Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.
PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of aft valve 1 sense tube (21) and aft valve 2 sense tube (22) nuts.
       2 Apply a layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the nacelle anti-ice duct, upper anti-ice valve and lower anti-ice valve fittings.
       3 Connect the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) to the nacelle anti-ice duct and the upper anti-ice valve.
NOTE: Do not torque the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) fittings at this time.
       4 Connect the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) to the nacelle anti-ice duct and the lower anti-ice valve.
NOTE: Do not torque the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) fittings at this time.
       5 Put the two clamps (25) on the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) and the aft valve 2 sense tube (22).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
       6 Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez Pure Nickel Special (Material No.PU5-0003) to the threads of the nut (24).
       7 Attach the two clamps (25), the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) and aft valve 2 sense tube (22) to the nacelle anti-ice duct. Use the bolt (26), the two washers (23) and the nut (24).
NOTE: Do not torque the nut (24) at this time.
       8 Adjust the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) and the aft valve 2 sense tube (22).
         a If necessary, loosen the V-band couplings that connect the anti-ice valves.
         b Turn the anti-ice valves a small distance until there is no preload on the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) and aft valve 2 sense tube (22).
         c Make sure that there is maximum clearance between the aft valve 1 sense tube (21), aft valve 2 sense tube (22), the anti-ice valves and adjacent components.
         d Tighten the V-band couplings that you loosened (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-400-807).
       9 TORQUE the aft valve 1 sense tube (21) nut to the nacelle anti-ice duct to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN ) T.
       10 Hold the fitting on the upper anti-ice valve.
       11 TORQUE the aft valve sense tube (21) nut to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
T.
       12 TORQUE the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) nut to the nacelle anti-ice duct to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       13 Hold the fitting on the lower anti-ice valve.
       14 TORQUE the aft valve 2 sense tube (22) nut to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       15 TORQUE the nut (24) to between 27 and 23 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.26 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Install the XDCR2 sense tube (30).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: APPLY THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE SENSE TUBE FITTING AND TO ALL THE THREADS OF THE MATING FITTING. MAKE SURE THAT THE ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND DOES NOT GO INTO THE SENSE LINES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU CAN CAUSE INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE ECS.
       1 Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.
PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of XDCR2 sense tube (30) nuts.
       2 Apply a layer of anti-seize compound (Material No.PU5-0005) or Royco 81 MS Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005A) or PT 605 Anti-Seize Compound (Material No.PU5-0005B) to the threads of the pressure transducer and nacelle anti-ice duct fittings.
       3 Connect the XDCR2 sense tube (30) to the pressure transducer and nacelle anti-ice duct.
NOTE: Do not torque the XDCR2 sense tube (30) fittings at this time.
       4 Put the clamp (27) on the XDCR2 sense tube (30).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
       5 Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez Pure Nickel Special (Material No.PU5-0003) to the threads of the bolt (29).
       6 Attach the clamp (27) and the XDCR2 sense tube (30) to the engine case bracket. Use the bolt (29) and washer (28).
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (29) at this time.
       7 Adjust the XDCR2 sense tube (30) to keep the preload to a minimum.
       8 Hold the fitting on the pressure transducer with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       9 TORQUE the XDCR2 sense tube (30) nut to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN ) T.
       10 Hold the fitting on the nacelle anti-ice duct with an applicable WRENCH - STANDARD.
       11 TORQUE the XDCR2 sense tube (30) nut to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN )
T.
       12 TORQUE the bolt (29) to between 27 and 24.3 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )
T.
       13 Install the insulation covers on the nacelle anti-ice duct (
Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-400-807).
     (f) Apply torque stripe on the nacelle anti-ice sense tube fittings.

       1 Clean the surfaces of the nacelle anti-ice sense tube (1), (2), (3), (11), (12), (13), (21), (22) and (30) fittings and adjacent surfaces. Use a clean, lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) . Clean until you remove all the contamination you can see.
       2 Clean again the surfaces of the nacelle anti-ice sense tubes (1), (2), (3), (11), (12), (13), (21), (22) and (30) fittings and adjacent surfaces. Use a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) and acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) . Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) with a clean acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) before acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) becomes dry.
       3 Clean the surfaces of the nacelle anti-ice sense tubes (1), (2), (3), (11), (12), (13), (21), (22) and (30) fittings and adjacent surfaces one more time. Use a clean, lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) .

       4 Paint a torque stripe on the nacelle anti-ice sense tubes (1), (2), (3), (11), (12), (13), (21), (22) and (30) fittings and adjacent surfaces with the PU3-0025sealant, tamper proof or equivalent.
