3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-14-49-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Depressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (2) Depressurize the hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic system:
  • On the ground service panel 197CB.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1 shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
  • Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit, on the HYD section of overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan-cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

E. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

F. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Deactivate the thrust-reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

G. Get Access
   (1) Open the left fan-cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the engine.
   (3) Remove the access panels 476AR and 476BR (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002).

I. Get Access
   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the engine.
   (3) Remove the access panels 476AR and 476BR (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002).

I. Get Access
   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser half (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the engine.
   (3) Remove the access panels 475AR and 475BR (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002).

I. Get Access
   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
451AL.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the engine.
   (3) Remove the access panels 475AR and 475BR (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-14-49-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Forward Reservoir Pressurization-Tube in the Pylon
   (1) Loosen the nut (7) and disconnect the reservoir pressurization hose (6).
   (2) Remove the screws (5) and the washers (4).
   (3) Loosen the nut (2) and remove the forward reservoir pressurization-tube (3).
   (4) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends of the tubes (1), (3) and the hose (6).

B. Removal of the Middle Reservoir Pressurization-Tube in the Pylon
   (1) Loosen the nut (2) and disconnect the aft reservoir pressurization-tube (1).
   (2) Loosen the nut (7) and disconnect the reservoir pressurization hose (8).
   (3) Remove the screws (6) and the washers (5).
   (4) Remove the screws (4), the washers (3) and remove the middle reservoir pressurization-tube (9).
   (5) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends of the tubes (1), (9) and the hose (8).

B. Removal of the Middle Reservoir Pressurization-Tube in the Pylon
   (1) Loosen the nut (2) and disconnect the aft reservoir pressurization-tube (1).
   (2) Loosen the nut (8) and disconnect the forward reservoir pressurization-tube (9).
   (3) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (6).
   (4) Remove the screws (14), the washers (13) and the spacer (5).
   (5) Remove the screws (4), the washers (3) and remove the middle reservoir pressurization-tube (10).
   (6) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends of the tubes (1), (9) and (10).

B. Removal of the Middle Reservoir Pressurization-Tube in the Pylon
   (1) Loosen the nut (2) and disconnect the aft reservoir pressurization-tube (1).
   (2) Loosen the nut (8) and disconnect the reservoir pressurization hose (9).
   (3) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (6).
   (4) Remove the screws (14), the washers (13) and the spacer (5).
   (5) Remove the screws (4), the washers (3) and remove the middle reservoir pressurization-tube (10).
   (6) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends of the tubes (1), (10) and the hose (9).
Subtask 29-14-49-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Removal of the Aft Reservoir Pressurization-Tube in the Pylon
   (1) Loosen the nuts (2) and (9) of the aft reservoir pressurization-tube (5).
   (2) Remove the screw (4), the washer (3) and the nut (11).
   (3) Discard the nut (11).
   (4) Remove the screw (7) and the washer (6).
   (5) Remove the aft reservoir pressurization-tube (5).
   (6) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends of the tubes (1), (8) and (5).
