WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-35-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.
   (5) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the engine 1(2).
   (6) Make sure that the fan-cowl door is open.
Subtask 29-13-35-941-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the hydraulic tube connection to the switch (25) to collect the remaining fluid.
Subtask 29-13-35-860-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.
   (5) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the engine.
   (6) Make sure that the thrust reverser system is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
   (7) Make sure that the left fan-cowl door 447AL is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
Subtask 29-13-35-941-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the ENG panel 115VU:
  • make sure that the ENG 2 switch is in the OFF position
  • make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 2 shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the HYD section of the panel 40VU.
   (4) On the ENG section of the panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC/GND/PWR 2 pushbutton switch is off
  • make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC system.
   (5) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position.
   (6) Make sure that a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) is in position below the pipe (4).
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-35-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Check Valve
   (1) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the new AIPC 29-13-06-01-025 O-RING (2).
   (2) Install the O-ring (2) on the check valve (3) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-29-00-911-002).
   (3) Remove the blanking plug from the panel (1).
   (4) Install the check valve (3) on the panel (1).
   (5) TORQUE the check valve (3) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft ) T.
   (6) Remove the blanking plug from the pipe (4).
   (7) Connect the pipe (4) to the check valve (3).
   (8) TORQUE the coupling nut of the pipe (4) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )

C. Operational Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the thrust reversers (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040).
   (2) Make sure that there are no leaks from the connection of the check valve (3).
   (3) Make sure that the level of hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
Subtask 29-13-35-942-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Preparation for the Test
   (1) Remove the cloth.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (4) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002).
   (5) Make the thrust reverser system serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).
Subtask 29-13-35-710-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
E. Operational Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-042).
   (2) Make sure that there are no leaks from the connections of the check valve (3).
   (3) Make sure that the level of hydraulic fluid in the Yellow reservoir is correct. If necessary fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-13-35-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the left fan-cowl door 447AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
   (5) Close the door 195BB.
Subtask 29-13-35-410-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the left fan-cowl door 447AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
