C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the ground condition.
   (2) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001).
   (3) On the overhead panel, on FLT CTL panels 23VU and 24VU:
  • Make sure that ELAC1 and ELAC2 pushbutton switches are pushed (FAULT and OFF legends are off).
   (4) Before you upload the ELAC software, open the circuit breaker related to the other ELAC.

D. Prepare the media disk
   (1) Get the media disk for the ELAC from the storage box in the cockpit.
   (2) Check if the P/N on the media disk agrees with the P/N given in the Airline Configuration Management Document.
NOTE: If the media disk with the right P/N is not available, contact your airline Engineering Department to get the media disk applicable to the aircraft.

E. Check of the ELAC software P/N on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page
NOTE: The LRU IDENTIFICATION is not necessary if you did it just before this procedure.
   (1) Make sure that the circuit breaker related to the ELAC on which you want to upload the software is closed.
   (2) Do the procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST F/CTL page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-006).
ACTION
RESULT
1.Push the line key adjacent to the EFCS 1(2) indication.
  • The EFCS 1(2) menu page comes into view.
2.Push the line key adjacent to the LRU IDENTIFICATION indication.
  • The LRU IDENTIFICATION page comes into view.
    The P/N given on this page is the operational software P/N.
3.Make sure that the ELAC P/N on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page shows that the ELAC can be uploaded or data loaded (P/N 39451291XX).
  • If the P/N shown on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is the same as the P/N on the media disk, the uploading operation is not necessary.

F. Prepare the Software
   (1) Get the ELAC software.
   (2) Check if the Part Number (P/N) of the software agrees with the P/N given in the Airline Configuration Management Document.
NOTE: If the software with the right P/N is not available, contact your airline Engineering Department to get the software applicable to the aircraft.

G. Check of the ELAC software P/N on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page
NOTE: The LRU IDENTIFICATION is not necessary if you did it just before this procedure.
   (1) Make sure that the circuit breaker related to the ELAC on which you want to upload the software is closed.
   (2) Do the procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST F/CTL page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-006).

1.On the center pedestal, on the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU):
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the EFCS 1(2) indication.
On the center pedestal, on the MCDU:
  • The EFCS 1(2) menu page comes into view.

  • Push the line select key adjacent to the LRU IDENTIFICATION indication.

4. Procedure
Subtask 27-93-00-970-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Uploading of ELAC Software
NOTE: This procedure is for ELAC1. For ELAC2, use the indications in the parentheses.
NOTE: During the uploading, you can ignore the warning light and the single chime.
ACTION
RESULT
1.Upload the ELAC1(2) COM software (Ref. AMM TASK 31-38-00-610-804).
  • If the uploading of the ELAC1(2) software is not possible, do the trouble shooting procedure TSM 27-93-00-810-955.

2.Do not do a reset of ELAC1(2) before the uploading of ELAC MON.

3.Upload the ELAC1(2) MON software (Ref. AMM TASK 31-38-00-610-804).
  • If the uploading of the ELAC1(2) software is not possible, do the trouble shooting procedure TSM 27-93-00-810-955.

4.Open and close circuit breaker 15CE1 (15CE2), and wait for 30 seconds for the end of the ELAC safety test.
On overhead panel 23VU (24VU):
  • The FAULT legend of the ELAC1 (ELAC2) pushbutton switch is off.

On the upper ECAM DU:
  • The ELAC 1 (ELAC2) FAULT warning goes out of view.

On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The ELAC1 (ELAC2) legend becomes green.
Subtask 27-93-00-280-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Do two checks of the software P/N loaded in the ELAC
   (1) Do the check of the reference of the software loaded in the ELAC with the LRU IDENTIFICATION:
     (a) Do the procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST F/CTL page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-006).
ACTION
RESULT
1.Push the line key adjacent to the EFCS 2(1) indication.
  • The EFCS 2(1) menu page comes into view.
2.Push the line key adjacent to the LRU IDENTIFICATION indication.
  • The LRU IDENTIFICATION page comes into view.

3.Make sure that the P/N of the ELAC shown on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is the same as the P/N on the media disk.

4.Push the MCDU MENU mode key.
  • The MCDU MENU page comes into view.
   (2) Do the check of the reference of the software loaded in the ELAC through the Parameter Alpha Call-up menus:
     (a) Refer to the Parameter Alpha Call-up List (Ref. AMM 31-37-00-00) to find the Parameter Alpha Call-up related to the ELAC.
     (b) With this parameter, go to the Parameter Alpha Call-up menus (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-008) to make sure that the P/N of the ELAC shown on the Alpha Call-up Page is the same as the P/N on the media disk.
   (3) If you want to upload software to the other ELAC, go to the Aircraft Maintenance Configuration paragraph. If you do not, go to the Close-up paragraph.
Subtask 27-93-00-280-051-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Do two checks of the software P/N loaded in the ELAC
   (1) Do the check of the reference of the software loaded in the ELAC with the LRU IDENTIFICATION:
     (a) Do the procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST F/CTL page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-006).

1.On the center pedestal, on the MCDU:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the EFCS 2(1) indication.
On the center pedestal, on the MCDU:

     (a) Refer to the Parameter Alpha Call-up List (Ref. AMM 31-37-00-00) to find the Parameter Alpha Call-up related to the ELAC.
     (b) With this parameter, go to the Parameter Alpha Call-up menus (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-008) to make sure that the P/N of the ELAC shown on the Alpha Call-up Page is the same as the P/N of the software.
   (3) If you want to upload software to the other ELAC, go to the Aircraft Maintenance Configuration paragraph. If you do not, go to the Close-up paragraph.
5. Close-up
Subtask 27-93-00-860-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU, push the line select key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.
   (2) Remove the old media disk (if there is one) from the storage box. Then put the new media disk in the storage box.
   (3) Close circuit breakers 15CE1 and 15CE2.
   (4) Do the check of the ELAC software P/Ns on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page
NOTE: The check of LRU IDENTIFICATION of both ELAC is necessary in order to avoid non permitted configuration.
     (a) Do the procedure to get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST F/CTL page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-006).

1.Push the line key adjacent to the EFCS 1(2) indication.
  • The EFCS 1(2) menu page comes into view.
2.Push the line key adjacent to the LRU IDENTIFICATION indication.

     (b) If the two ELACs were not loaded with the same software, make sure that the configuration of the ELAC1/ELAC2 is a permitted configuration.

NOTE: For ELAC P/N 3945129100, Airbus recommends to put (or update) an informative label on the front face of the computer with the P/N of the loaded software. label is for information only. The procedure to identify the operational software P/N stays the LRU IDENTIFICATION on the MCDU.
Subtask 27-93-00-860-061-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
