A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) On the AIR COND panel 30VU, make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED and APU BLEED pushbutton switches are released. Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(4) In the cockpit, on the HP ground connector, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
Subtask 26-21-49-865-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:

4. ProcedureWARNING:
BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT.
IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
(1) Make sure that the 263193 SHUNT PLUG-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE are installed on the two cartridges (1). Subtask 26-21-49-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fire Extinguishing Pipes
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) Installation of the pipe (6):
(a) Install the clamp (68) in the correct position on the pipe (6).
(b) Put the pipe (6) in the correct position between the fairing (41) and rib (34).
(c) Put the bulkhead (52) in the correct position.
1 Install the screw (51), washer (55) and nut (56).
a Tighten the screw (51).
2 Put the shim (48) in the correct position.
a Install the bolt (46), washer (59) and nut (60).
b Install the two bolts (47), the two washers (53) and the two nuts (54).
c Tighten the bolt (46).
d Tighten the two bolts (47).
3 Put the shim (44) in the correct position.
a Install the three bolts (45), the three washers (62) and the three nuts (61).
b Tighten the three bolts (45).
4 Install the bolt (49), washer (57) and nut (58).
5 Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) around the pipes (43) and (6), and against the bulkhead (52) and the fairing (41).
6 Install the seal (50) on the bulkhead (52).
(d) Make sure that the clamp (63) is in the correct position.
1 Install the washer (64) and the bolt (65) on the clamp (63) and the pipe (6).
a Tighten the bolt (65).
(e) Install the washer (66) and the bolt (67) on the clamp (68).
1 Tighten the bolt (67).
(5) Installation of the pipe (7):
(a) Install the three bushings (27) and the three clamps (26) in the correct position on the pipe (7).
(b) Install the pipe (7) in the correct position and connect it on the pipe (6).
(c) Make sure that the three bushings (27) and the three clamps (26) are in the correct position on the three supports (28).
1 Install the three washers (24) and the three bolts (25).
a Tighten the three bolts (25).
(6) Installation of the pipe (5):
(a) Install the clamp (22) in the correct position on the pipe (5).
(b) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 O-RING (33) in position on the pipe (5).
(c) Install the pipe (5) in the correct position between the rib (34) and the support (23).
(d) Install the three washers (31), the three bolts (30) and the three nuts (32).
1 Tighten the three bolts (30).
(e) Make sure that the clamp (22) is in the correct position on the support (23).
(f) Install the washer (20) and the bolt (21) on the clamp (22).
1 Tighten the bolt (21).
(7) Installation of the pipe (4):
(a) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (18) in position on the end fitting (19) of the pipe (5).
(b) Install the pipe (4) in the correct position between the pipe (5), union (11) and support (40).
(c) Install the rubber pad (39) on the pipe (4) and on the support (40).
(d) Install the three washers (38), the three spacers (37) and the three bolts (36). Do not tighten the three bolts (36) at this time.
(e) Tighten the knurled nut (17) of the pipe (4) fully with your hand.
(f) Tighten the three bolts (36).
(g) Installation of the lockwire:

(8) Installation of the pipe (3):
(a) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (15) in position on the end fitting (14) of the pipe (3).
(b) Install the pipe (3) in the correct position between the pipe (4) and the union (10).
(c) Tighten the knurled nut (16) of the pipe (4) fully with your hand.
(d) Installation of the lockwire:

3 Put the shim (44) in the correct position.
a Install the three bolts (45), the three washers (62) and the three nuts (61).
b Tighten the three bolts (45).
4 Install the bolt (49), washer (57) and nut (58).
5 Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) around the pipes (43) and (6), and against the bulkhead (52) and the fairing (41).
6 Install the seal (50) on the bulkhead (52).
(d) Make sure that the clamp (63) is in the correct position.
1 Install the washer (64) and the bolt (65) on the clamp (63) and the pipe (6).
a Tighten the bolt (65).
(e) Install the washer (66) and the bolt (67) on the clamp (68).
1 Tighten the bolt (67).
(5) Installation of the pipe (7):
(a) Install the three bushings (27) and the three clamps (26) in the correct position on the pipe (7).
(b) Install the pipe (7) in the correct position and connect it on the pipe (6).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT EQUIPMENT FROM FLEXIBLE HOSES AND RIGID TUBING.
IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOSES AND TUBES.
1 Hold the nut (35) of the pipe (6) and tighten the nut (29) of the pipe (7). (c) Make sure that the three bushings (27) and the three clamps (26) are in the correct position on the three supports (28).
1 Install the three washers (24) and the three bolts (25).
a Tighten the three bolts (25).
(6) Installation of the pipe (5):
(a) Install the clamp (22) in the correct position on the pipe (5).
(b) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 O-RING (33) in position on the pipe (5).
(c) Install the pipe (5) in the correct position between the rib (34) and the support (23).
(d) Install the three washers (31), the three bolts (30) and the three nuts (32).
1 Tighten the three bolts (30).
(e) Make sure that the clamp (22) is in the correct position on the support (23).
(f) Install the washer (20) and the bolt (21) on the clamp (22).
1 Tighten the bolt (21).
(7) Installation of the pipe (4):
(a) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (18) in position on the end fitting (19) of the pipe (5).
(b) Install the pipe (4) in the correct position between the pipe (5), union (11) and support (40).
(c) Install the rubber pad (39) on the pipe (4) and on the support (40).
(d) Install the three washers (38), the three spacers (37) and the three bolts (36). Do not tighten the three bolts (36) at this time.
(e) Tighten the knurled nut (17) of the pipe (4) fully with your hand.
(f) Tighten the three bolts (36).
(g) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Safety the knurled nut (17) of the pipe (4) and the end fitting (19) of the pipe (5) with (8) Installation of the pipe (3):
(a) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 ORING (15) in position on the end fitting (14) of the pipe (3).
(b) Install the pipe (3) in the correct position between the pipe (4) and the union (10).
(c) Tighten the knurled nut (16) of the pipe (4) fully with your hand.
(d) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
1 Safety the knurled nut (16) of the pipe (4) and the end fitting (14) of the pipe (3) with B. Test
(1) Do a check of the engine fire-extinguishing distribution-piping for leakage and obstruction (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-00-720-003).

C. Connection of the Fire Extinguishing Pipe to the Fire Extinguisher Bottles
(1) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 O-RING (12) in position on the union (11).
(2) Tighten the knurled nut (13) of the pipe (4) fully with your hand.
(3) Installation of the lockwire:
14QGC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 1 mm (0.041 inch) CRES - .
(4) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 O-RING (9) in position on the union (10).
(5) Tighten the knurled nut (8) of the pipe (3) fully with your hand.
(6) Installation of the lockwire:

Subtask 26-21-49-081-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 O-RING (12) in position on the union (11).
(2) Tighten the knurled nut (13) of the pipe (4) fully with your hand.
(3) Installation of the lockwire:

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Safety the knurled nut (13) of the pipe (4) and the union (11) with (4) Put the new AIPC 26-21-06-01-150 O-RING (9) in position on the union (10).
(5) Tighten the knurled nut (8) of the pipe (3) fully with your hand.
(6) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Safety the knurled nut (8) of the pipe (3) and the union (10) with D. Removal of the Safety Tools
(a) Before you touch the cartridge, refer to the handling precautions for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref. AMM TASK 20-15-00-910-001).
(b) Remove the 263193 SHUNT PLUG-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE from the cartridge (1).
Subtask 26-21-49-420-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURE APPLICABLE TO DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE TO RELEASE ITS CONTENTS SUDDENLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GROUNDED AND THAT YOU INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE ON IT. USE A CAP OR PLUG AS SHUNT DEVICE (THE CAP OR PLUG WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE). DO NOT USE A FOIL SHUNT.
IF YOU TOUCH A POWER DEVICE CARTRIDGE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A SHUNT DEVICE INSTALLED, AN EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE INJURIES TO YOU.
(1) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle: (a) Before you touch the cartridge, refer to the handling precautions for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (Ref. AMM TASK 20-15-00-910-001).
(b) Remove the 263193 SHUNT PLUG-FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARTRIDGE from the cartridge (1).
E. Connection of the Electrical Connectors to the Two Fire Extinguisher Bottles
(1) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the cartridge (1).
5. Close-up(1) Do these steps for each fire extinguisher bottle:
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(c) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the cartridge (1).
