A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

   (2) Remove these access panels:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position below the pylon.
   (2) Remove the following access doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-000-802):

   (4) FOR [8WE1] (BOTTLE 2-FIRE EXTING, ENG 1)
   (5) FOR [6WE2] (BOTTLE 1-FIRE EXTING, ENG 2)
   (6) FOR [8WE2] (BOTTLE 2-FIRE EXTING, ENG 2)

A. Operational Test of the Engine Fire-Extinguisher Bottles Low-Pressure (for P/N 86181007)
ACTION
RESULT
1.In the left (right) engine pylon, on the fire-extinguisher bottle 6WE1 (6WE2):
On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD
(overhead panel 20VU):
A.Push the pressure contact pushbutton switch.
  • On the AGENT 1 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend comes on.
B.Release the pressure contact pushbutton switch.
  • On the AGENT 1 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend goes off.
2.In the left (right) engine pylon, on the fire-extinguisher bottle 8WE1 (8WE2):
On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD:
A.Push the pressure contact pushbutton switch.
  • On the AGENT 2 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend comes on.
B.Release the pressure contact pushbutton switch.
  • On the AGENT 2 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend goes off.

CAUTION: TO DO THE MANUAL PRESSURE TEST OF THE ENGINE-FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE, TURN THE ALLEN KEY CLOCKWISE UNTIL YOU FEEL A FORCE (AT APPROXIMATELY 10 DEGREES). DO NOT TURN THE ALLEN KEY MORE THAN NECESSARY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PRESSURE SWITCH.
A. Operational Test of the Engine Fire-Extinguisher Bottles Low-Pressure

1.In the left (right) engine pylon, on the fire-extinguisher bottle 6WE1 (6WE2):
On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD
(overhead panel 20VU):
A.Engage the ALLEN KEY 3/32 IN and turn it clockwise (approximately 10 degrees) until you can feel a force.
  • On the AGENT 1 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend comes on.
B.Release the Allen wrench to let the test point go back by itself to its initial position.
  • On the AGENT 1 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend goes off.
2.In the left (right) engine pylon, on the fire-extinguisher bottle 8WE1 (8WE2):
On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD
(overhead panel 20VU):
A.Engage the allen wrench (3/32 in. hex key); turn the Allen wrench clockwise (by 10 degrees approximately) until you can feel a force.
  • On the AGENT 2 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend comes on.
B.Release the Allen wrench to let the test point go back by itself to its initial position.
  • On the AGENT 2 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend goes off.

On the ENG/APU FIRE panel 1WD
(overhead panel 20VU):
A.Engage the ALLEN KEY 3/32 IN and turn it clockwise (approximately 10 degrees) until you can feel a force.
  • On the AGENT 1 pushbutton switch,
    the DISCH legend comes on.
B.Release the Allen wrench to let the test point go back by itself to its initial position.
  • On the AGENT 1 pushbutton switch,

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install these access panels:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
415BL 415BR.
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
425BL 425BR.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 26-21-00-410-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install these access doors (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-802):
   (3) FOR [6WE1] (BOTTLE 1-FIRE EXTING, ENG 1)
   (4) FOR [8WE1] (BOTTLE 2-FIRE EXTING, ENG 1)
   (5) FOR [6WE2] (BOTTLE 1-FIRE EXTING, ENG 2)
   (6) FOR [8WE2] (BOTTLE 2-FIRE EXTING, ENG 2)
   (7) Remove all the fixtures, tools, test and support equipment used during this procedure.
   (8) Remove the access platform(s).
   (9) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
