C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) In the cockpit, on the overhead panel, on the ELEC section of panel 35VU, make sure that the GALLEY or GALY & CAB pushbutton switch (2XA) is pushed (the OFF legend is off).
   (2) On the galley control panel, make sure that the related circuit breaker(s) of the beverage maker is (are) closed.
   (3) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-35-00-710-069-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Operational Test of the Beverage Maker
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU OPERATE GALLEY EQUIPMENT WITH HOT WATER OR STEAM. HOT WATER AND STEAM ARE DANGEROUS AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING: OPEN THE WATER FAUCET OR THE WATER DRAIN CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY. THE TANK IS PRESSURIZED AND STEAM OR VERY HOT WATER CAN COME OUT OF THE NOZZLE. HOT WATER OR STEAM IS DANGEROUS (IT CAN BURN YOU).
   (1) Use the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) to collect water from the water faucet during the test.
ACTION
RESULT
1.At the galley:

  • Close the potable-water shutoff valve.

2.At the beverage maker:
  • Hold an empty server below the water faucet and open the water faucet.
At the beverage maker:
  • Water flows from the water faucet into the server.
  • Hold the water faucet in the open position.
  • After a short time, the water flow stops.
  • Close the water faucet.

  • Push the POWER pushbutton switch.
  • The POWER and the LOW WATER indicators come on.
3.At the galley:
  • Open the potable-water shutoff valve.

4.At the beverage maker:
At the beverage maker:
  • Hold an empty server below the water faucet.
  • Open the water faucet to bleed the air from the tank until the water comes from the water faucet.
  • Water flows into the water tank.
  • Close the water faucet when the water starts to flow.
  • The water flow stops.
  • After a short time, the LOW WATER indicator goes off.
  • Put an empty server in position and lock the brew handle in the down position.

  • Push the BREW and the WARMER pushbutton switches.
  • The BREW and the WARMER indicators come on.
  • If the water has the set temperature, the hot water flows through the brew cup into the server.
  • Release the brew handle to the up position.
  • The BREW indicator goes off and the hot water flow through the brew cup stops.
  • Hold an empty server below the water faucet and open the water faucet.
  • Water flows from the water faucet into the server.
  • Close the water faucet.
  • The water flow stops.
5.At the beverage maker:
  • Put an empty server in position and lock the brew handle in the down position.
At the beverage maker:
  • Push the BREW pushbutton switch.
  • The BREW indicator comes on.

  • After a short time, the hot water flows through the brew cup into the server.
  • After a short time, the water has the set level in the server and operates the level sensor.
  • The water flow stops and the BREW indicator goes off.
  • Hold an empty server below the water faucet and open the water faucet.
  • Water flows from the water faucet into the server.
  • Close the water faucet.
  • The water flow stops.
6.At the beverage maker:
  • Push the POWER and the WARMER pushbutton switches.
At the beverage maker:
  • The POWER and the WARMER indicators go off.

WARNING: OPEN THE WATER FAUCET OR THE WATER DRAIN CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY. THE TANK IS PRESSURIZED AND STEAM OR VERY HOT WATER CAN COME OUT OF THE NOZZLE. HOT WATER OR STEAM IS DANGEROUS (IT CAN BURN YOU).
WARNING: DO NOT PUT AN INSULATED SERVER ON THE WARMER. THE WARMER CAN MAKE THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE INSULATED SERVER VERY HOT. THIS CAN CAUSE BURNS TO YOUR SKIN AND DAMAGE TO THE INSULATED SERVER.

RESULT
1.On the galley control panel:
  • If the master switch is installed, set it to the ON position.

2.At the galley:
  • Close the potable-water shutoff valve.

3.On the beverage maker:
  • Push the POWER pushbutton switch.
On the beverage maker:
  • The POWER indicator comes on.
  • Hold an empty server below the water faucet.

  • Push and hold the HOT pushbutton switch.
  • Water flows from the water faucet into the server.
  • After a short time, the LOW WATER indicator comes on.
  • Release the HOT pushbutton switch.
  • The water flow from the water faucet stops.
  • Remove the server and drain it.

4.At the galley:
  • Open the potable-water shutoff valve.

5.On the beverage maker:
On the beverage maker:
  • Hold an empty server below the water faucet.

  • Push and hold the HOT pushbutton switch.
  • Water flows from the water faucet into the server.
  • Release the HOT pushbutton switch.
  • The water flow from the water faucet stops.
  • After a short time, the LOW WATER indicator goes off.
  • Remove the server and drain it.

6.On the beverage maker:
  • Push the WARMER pushbutton switch.
On the beverage maker:
  • The WARMER indicator comes on.
  • After a short time, the warmer plate becomes warm.
  • Put an empty server in position and move the brew handle to the down position.

  • Push the BREW or TEA pushbutton switch.
  • The BREW or TEA indicator comes on and flashes.
  • After a short time, water flows from the water faucet into the server.
  • Move the brew handle to the up position.
  • The water flow from the water faucet stops.
  • Move the brew handle to the down position.
  • Water flows from the water faucet into the server again.
  • When the water has the set level in the server, the water flow from the water faucet stops.
  • The BREW or TEA indicator stays on.
  • Move the brew handle to the up position.
  • Remove the server and drain it.

7.On the beverage maker:
On the beverage maker:
  • Put an empty server in position and move the brew handle to the down position.

  • Push the BREW or TEA pushbutton switch.
  • The BREW or TEA indicator comes on and flashes.
  • After a short time, water flows from the water faucet into the server.
  • When the water has the set level in the server, the water flow from the water faucet stops.
  • The BREW or TEA indicator stays on.
  • Move the brew handle to the up position.
  • Remove the server and drain it.

8.On the beverage maker:
  • Push the POWER and the WARMER pushbutton switches.
On the beverage maker:
  • The POWER and the WARMER indicators go off.
9.On the galley control panel:
  • If the master switch is installed, set it to the OFF position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the related circuit breaker(s) and switch(es) back to their initial configuration.
   (2) Make sure that the beverage maker is in its initial configuration.
   (3) If necessary, depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Put the related circuit breaker(s) and switch(es) back to their initial configuration.
   (2) Make sure that the beverage maker is in its initial configuration.
   (3) If necessary, depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
