A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
NOTE: You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable surge tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the zones 550 and 650.
   (2) Remove the access panels between RIB22 to RIB26 (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002):
     (a) For the left wing:
     (b) For the right wing:

D. Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized

A. General Visual Inspection of All Exposed Wiring Within the Vent Surge Tank
   (1) Do a visual inspection of the wiring to make sure that there is no signs of ageing, alteration, overheating, scaling and deformation ESPM 2052110:
     (a) On sensitive routes: 1S and 2S, surge tank overflow-sensor and electrical harness.

   (1) Install the access panels between RIB22 to RIB26 (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002):

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Remove the safety barriers.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
